Job Title: Housing Support Worker

Description:
Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Housing Support Worker to join their team in Reading. In this role, you will provide essential support to vulnerable tenants, helping them navigate tenancy issues and access social services. You will conduct home visits, carry out assessments, and work closely with residents to ensure they receive the assistance they need to maintain their tenancies and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to tenants with tenancy-related issues, offering guidance and solutions to help them sustain their housing.
  • Conduct regular home visits to assess tenants' needs and identify any additional support required.
  • Assist residents in accessing social services, benefits, and other resources that can enhance their well-being.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to address each tenant's specific circumstances.
  • Work collaboratively with local agencies, charities, and support networks to ensure a holistic approach to tenant care.
  • Monitor the progress of support plans, making adjustments as needed to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions and support activities, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Respond promptly to crisis situations, providing immediate support to tenants in urgent need.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a housing support role or similar position within the social housing sector.
  • Strong understanding of tenancy management, social services, and benefits available to vulnerable individuals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with tenants and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach, with a genuine desire to help others improve their lives.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles and practices.
  • A valid driving license is desirable for conducting home visits.
