We are redesigning and investing in our service to: - Increase our success in preventing homelessness. - End our use of hotels and shared temporary accommodation for families. - Improve move on from Temporary Accommodation. - Reduce our use of and spend on Temporary Accommodation. The Housing Support Register Co-ordinator ensures that we can nominate daily to much needed vacant accommodation in our commissioned high support services, services there to assist those in greatest need of high support accommodation, so that clients can move in on the same day. On a daily basis you will monitor vacancies in our support services. To do this, you will need to maintain and develop positive working relationships with a range of internal and external service providers. As Housing Strategic and Performance Lead, you'll ensure the smooth operation of key services, from lettings and tenancy sustainment to managing temporary accommodations and housing-related support contracts. You'll act as a bridge between the council, private sector, and community partners to deliver housing solutions that make a difference. In this role you will lead the development of critical policies, including our Homelessness Prevention Strategy and Rough Sleeping Plan, using data-driven insights and ensure compliance and quality in housing support contracts, continually pushing for improvements. Your role We are currently hiring a Housing Support Worker to join our inspiring and friendly Somerset Additional Housing Service Team, Wells - Somerset. 1 x Full-time position available - 9am - 5pm over a 7 days per week Rota. Our Keward and Burcott housing services offer a supportive environment that fosters independence and recovery. We help individuals maintain their tenancy while providing access to social activities, education, employment, and training. These services support those at risk of losing or not accessing housing due to mental health issues, vulnerability, or housing-related challenges. Role Summary: Working with an allocation of tenants, you will provide a robust, intensive housing management service. Supporting vulnerable individuals who experience mental ill health in promoting independence and empowering sustainment of tenancies. You will be required to assess the needs and risks of tenants and work in a person centred and personalised manner in order to enable individuals to sustain their tenancy. The role involves tenancy sign ups and property re-lets, processing referrals, day to day running of a service, and health and safety of the schemes we manage.
