About the Role

Job Overview

  • Leadership & Team Management:
    Lead, motivate, and develop the Building Maintenance team, managing performance, training, and engagement to deliver high standards.
  • Maintenance Delivery & Asset Management:
    Oversee all planned preventative and reactive maintenance through ARMS, ensuring building infrastructure and services operate efficiently and reliably.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance:
    Ensure all maintenance activities meet statutory requirements (PUWER, SSOW, COSHH), promoting a strong safety culture across the team.
  • Contractor & Supplier Management:
    Manage third-party contractors, ensuring compliance with RAMS, SLAs, and safety standards while holding suppliers accountable for performance.
  • Operational Planning & Resource Management:
    Allocate resources effectively, prioritising maintenance tasks to minimise operational disruption and downtime.
  • Cost & Budget Control:
    Manage maintenance spend, including labour, spares, and contractor costs, ensuring alignment with agreed budgets.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Identify recurring issues, implement root cause solutions, and drive improvements in asset reliability and maintenance standards.
  • Systems & Data Management:
    Maintain accurate records within ARMS, ensuring maintenance history, compliance documentation, and asset data are up to date.
Package Description

Salary & Hours
  • £56,761 per annum
  • 40 hours per week worked over 5 days from 7.

Minimum Criteria to Apply

  • Proven experience leading building maintenance or facilities teams in a complex operational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of facilities maintenance, statutory compliance (PUWER, SSOW, COSHH), and contractor management.
  • Experience using CMMS systems (e.g. ARMS or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage contractors, budgets, and maintenance performance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Maintenance (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent).
  • IOSH Managing Safety (or equivalent) desirable.
