The role
This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Group's statutory duties as set out in the Building Safety Act and Fire Safety Act, and compliance obligations by managing all 11m+ buildings in accordance with the Safety Case Report and ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Building Assurance Certificate.

The role
This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Group's statutory duties as set out in the Building Safety Act and Fire Safety Act, and compliance obligations by managing all 11m+ buildings in accordance with the Safety Case Report and ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Building Assurance Certificate.

What you'll achieve
- To apply the principles of BS9997, including Plan, Do, Check, Act, across all our activities on building safety and ensuring that all relevant aspects of Health and Safety legislation and Building Regulations are adhered to in all circumstances relating to buildings within the portfolio, taking into full consideration recommendations in the revised Building Regulatory regime
- To prepare and maintain Safety Case reports for auditing by the Building Safety Regulator, to ensure the building remain compliant in line with the Act and closely monitor the completion of any resulting actions
- To prepare and manage the hazards and risks of the HRB's through producing, maintaining and audit/updating bow tie risk assessments to reduce risks
- Support the Building Safety Leader to review, update and implement as required the resident engagements strategy, MOR policy, Building safety policy and any other policy required to meet the building safety act
- Act as the Group's expert on all new legislation relating to building safety and fire safety and ensure that the correct systems and services are in place to meet our obligations
- To provide technical guidance and critical support to other departments to ensure that works are carried out to meet all regulatory requirements. Such as Building control consents through Planned investments and replacements
- Ensure fire risk structure assessments are undertaken and reviewed regularly and any recommendations are undertaken in a timely manner
- Build and manage internal and external relationships including Procurement consortia, consultants, contractors, statutory authorities, and other public bodies through which we deliver services, in order to drive H&S culture across Orbit Group and its partners
Essential skills
- Educated to degree level in a property related subject or relevant professional qualification or able to demonstrate extensive relevant experience and equivalent knowledge.
- National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent).
- Sound technical knowledge of Fire Safety, Asbestos, Building services including Gas, Mechanical & Electrical services.
- Experience and knowledge of managing external providers and varying delivery models.
- Experience and knowledge of setting and managing maintenance budgets.
- Extensive management experience and demonstrable people management and leadership skills.
