About the Role:

Would you like to work somewhere where you get to make a real difference every day?

If you're looking for a role where your expertise genuinely helps keep people safe in their homes, this is a great opportunity to make a lasting impact.

Advance is a national housing and support provider with over 50 years' experience, and we're launching our new strategic plan, Customers at the Heart - placing safety, quality and customer experience front and centre.

We're looking for a skilled Compliance Manager to lead our landlord health and safety functions, overseeing areas such as gas, fire, legionella, asbestos, electrical safety and compliance with Awaab's Law.

You'll manage a small team, strengthen compliance processes, and ensure we provide safe, well-maintained homes for our customers.

Working closely with colleagues across Housing, Property Services and external partners, you'll act as our subject matter expert - driving high standards, continuous improvement, and a customer-focused approach to compliance. Most importantly, you'll be committed to protecting our customers and delivering services they can trust.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead all landlord health & safety compliance functions, including gas, fire, legionella, asbestos, electrical safety, lifting equipment and Awaab's Law
  • Manage and develop a team of Compliance Officers, ensuring high-quality, customer-focused service delivery
  • Oversee servicing and maintenance contracts, ensuring compliance with regulations, policy and best practice
  • Monitor performance, budgets and customer satisfaction, taking corrective action where needed
  • Drive continuous improvement across compliance services
  • Ensure services reflect the needs of customers with disabilities and additional support needs
  • Support resident engagement and stakeholder communication
  • Improve processes, systems and use of IT to enhance service efficiency
  • Lead procurement activities and liaise with Finance and Leasehold teams (including Section 20 requirements)
  • Act as subject matter expert, working with regulators and external bodies
  • Participate in the out-of-hours rota and deputise for the Head of Housing where required
What We're Looking For:
  • Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience leading compliance, property services or maintenance functions
  • Strong knowledge of property legislation and landlord health & safety
  • Experience managing teams, contractors, performance and budgets
  • Confident using IT systems to support service delivery and reporting
  • Experience in social housing (ideally working with vulnerable customers)
  • Strong decision-making, organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain policies and procedures
  • Desirable: Experience with Open Housing / asset management systems
You'll also bring a collaborative, respectful and customer-focused approach, aligned to our PRIDE values: Partnership, Respect, Inclusion, Drive and Efficiency.

Through our 'Investing in Our People strategy', we'll support you to gain or continue to build on qualifications aligned with the Competency and Conduct Standard. If the role requires a sector-approved qualification, you may already meet this requirement or, if not, we'll help you undertake the appropriate qualification as part of your professional development
