The Estates Services Compliance Team plays a critical role in managing the safety, integrity, and sustainability of over 300 buildings across Oxford's operational, residential, and graduate accommodation estate. Working collaboratively with colleagues in Building Services, Facilities Management, Sustainability, Space Management and more, we ensure that our built environment remains safe, resilient, and fit for the future

About the Role
As our Compliance Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, resilience, and regulatory compliance of our property portfolios in the UK. Working across a diverse range of research, teaching, residential, and heritage buildings, you will lead on the delivery of fire safety, asbestos, environmental and health-and-safety-related projects that directly protect staff, students, and visitors.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled professional who thrives on solving complex building challenges, working autonomously, and making decisions that influence the safety and long-term condition of an internationally important estate.
About You
• Chartered membership of a relevant construction-related organisation (RICS or CIOB), with extensive experience in project and contractor management
• Strong knowledge of building regulations, the Building Safety Act 2022 and CDM Regulations (2015)
• Demonstrable expertise in active and passive fire systems, fire safety legislation, and fire engineering principles
• Experience delivering complex reactive building fabric repairs in large or modern commercial buildings
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage a high-volume workload, prioritise effectively, and communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders

This role meets the criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa. The University will meet the cost of the Skilled Worker visa and NHS surcharge for applicants that require a visa. Please state in your application if you require sponsorship.
