The Role
Location: Ferndene, Forest Hall, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE12 9NQ
**please note due to the current demands of the service this requirement is for female staff only in order to provide support to female residents**
We are looking to appoint an Independent Living Support Worker with a passion for helping people to join our new team at Ferndene. This is an exciting opportunity to help build our ISL Provision and provide excellent support.
Ferndene comprises of 9 self-contained bungalows, with staff facilities, gardens and car parking. The people at Ferndene require assistance throughout the day to enable them to lead fulfilling lives.
Our Independent Supported Living schemes are home for individuals with learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities who require support with everyday living tasks, cooking, cleaning, organising social activities, support to health appointments and to live as independently as possible.
You will need to be enthusiastic, with a positive outlook on life and a real desire to help people achieve their goals and reach their full potential.
A great team player, who is flexible, organised and has the skills to work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the people we support receive the highest level of care is required. Being able to adapt and respond to evolving situations with a person-centred approach is essential for an independent living scheme.
