The Housing Finance team is part of the BSC, and we maximise the collection of rent, repairs charges, leaseholder charges and process Right To Buy applications. The role contributes to the efficient, accurate and timely operation of the housing financial functional activities and financial systems. Ensuring, rents, service charges, invoices, right to buy and leaseholder accounts are effectively administered and assessed.

This is a full time permanent role based at town hall.

What you'll be doing

Day you day you'll assess, monitor and progress right to buy applications, revenue accounts for tenants and leaseholders, including charging for services and rechargeable repair debt and progresses any overdue debts.

Addressing internal and external enquiries for housing revenue accounting and administration. Responding to various forms of correspondence, to include right to buy applications and leaseholder statements of account.

You'll also support preparatory investigation for raising invoices for housing type debts, assessing the likelihood and ability to pay, attaining details for enforcement options to assist income collection and legal officers.

Reconciling housing related revenue accounts including account charges, income received, housing benefit postings and adjustments. As well as, Monitoring leasehold debt cases, assessing the likelihood and ability to pay, attaining details for enforcement options to assist income collection and legal officers.

What you will need

With significant experience working in a customer-focused environment; including face-to-face, telephone and written communication. You'll use your experience of using and managing a range of IT systems, including substantial experience of computerised package operations.

As well as utilising your experience in debt recovery or in a housing environment. Including any knowledge of right to buy and or tenancy management legislation and best practice in relation to housing

You'll also have the ability to work on own initiative and as an active member of a team to meet deadlines and objectives.
