Hourly Paid Additional Support Assistant (Independent Living Skills)
Job description
Minimum of 16 hours per week
Fixed Term - 30/06/27
Must be available 9am - 4.30 pm
We wish to appoint an inspiring Additional Support Assistant to help learners with additional learning needs to access the curriculum at Coleg Gwent.
Applicants should have previous experience of working with young people who have difficulties and/or disabilities and be educated to Level 2 standard with four GCSEs including Maths and English at grade C or above.
The successful candidates will be required to support learners on a 1:1 basis, including providing personal care when needed, as well as work with learners on a group basis, working closely with the curriculum and campus support teams to ensure the learners meet their full potential.
The ability to use the Welsh language at a basic level (or willingness to undertake training) is desirable.
Applications may be submitted in Welsh and will not be treated less favourably than applications submitted in English.

- Safeguarding: Appointment is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check and EWC registration (costs covered by the candidate).
- Qualifications: Lecturers must hold or be willing to achieve a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE) within a set period.
