In this role you will manage, develop and implement the Council's affordable housing development function and act as client officer for the HRA development programme in order to maximise opportunities and funding for new affordable housing.
Leading a development team, you will ensure targets are met and projects are delivered on time and to budget.
There will be a focus on post contract delivery although smaller projects may be from inception to completion.

The Opportunity
In the role of Housing Development Manager, here's an example of what you'll be doing to make an impact:
Working on the delivery of new affordable homes predominantly through new build and refurbishment for the residents of Derby
Ensuring all projects are delivered on time and to budget with accurate contract monitoring throughout
Managing a team with a focus on affordable housing delivery and supporting them where necessary
Collaborative working with consultants, contractors and funding bodies
Identifying opportunities to maximise affordable housing delivery
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have...
A qualification to degree or equivalent in a field related to the post, or appropriate experience
Worked in a development related post in a local authority, Registered Provider or private housebuilder
A full working knowledge of the affordable housing development process
Demonstrable knowledge of the funding streams available to support affordable housing
Proven experience of project and programme management
Experience of managing projects and workloads, ensuring successful team working and the satisfactory completion of tasks within an agreed timescale
In addition, you will require good literacy, numeracy and IT skills for report writing, financial appraisals and budget management.
