The role will be to co-ordinate all referrals to short-term supported accommodation and floating support services across Cheshire East via a single point of access. Liaison with housing support providers and clients will form part of the role so good communication skills are necessary.

An exciting opportunity has become available to work within the Homelessness and Housing Options team in a role key to the prevention of homelessness and rough sleeping. The position is part time 22.2 hours per week preferably over Monday to Friday. This is a unique opportunity to join an established team and whilst the job description highlights our preferred skills and experience, we may also consider applications from applicants with a strong administrative background that do not have the housing experience and knowledge.

About the role

The role will be to co-ordinate all referrals to short-term supported accommodation and floating support services across Cheshire East via a single point of access. You will ensure all referrals are fully completed, liaising with referral agencies and clients to obtain additional information where required.

There will be a need to develop and maintain relationships with service providers to facilitate both an understanding of service provision and to reinforce contract compliance. You will assist the contract managers in various aspects of their work, including visiting providers premises to conduct inspections and to oversee support sessions.

  • Ability to think through various issues to establish appropriate means to resolve problems.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to write clear reports and present information in a clear format.
  • Ability to provide basic training on computer systems.
