The role
You'll provide support and advice to young people who have experienced homelessness and other forms of social exclusion. You'll work with the team to manage the day-to-day running of the young person's 24/7 supported accommodation scheme and be the first point of contact for customers and visitors.
Job requirements

You'll provide support and advice to young people who have experienced homelessness and other forms of social exclusion. You'll work with the team to manage the day-to-day running of the young person's 24/7 supported accommodation scheme and be the first point of contact for customers and visitors.
Job requirements
- Support customers in managing their rent and service charge payments, including their benefit claims where necessary.
- Deal with the immediate support needs of customers as appropriate and provide crisis intervention when necessary.
- Provide advice to customers on housing, health, welfare benefit claims and other issues as necessary. Accompany visitors on visits to other services and appointments where appropriate.
- Assist with all areas of move in to make sure new residents feel comfortable and have the right information concerning their tenure agreement, the local area and other services.
- Assist on prompting and recording weekly rent and service charges, maintaining resident rent records and making sure arrears are managed in line with the service's policy.
- Assist on liaising with the housing benefit department and benefit agencies to make sure customers and the service receive all monies due to them.
- Educated to GCSE Level or with a good level of maths and English.
- Some experience dealing directly with the public and/or clients or customers in a busy service environment.
- Experience dealing with complex and difficult behaviours in relation to young people facing multiple disadvantages or the willingness to develop these skills.
- Great communication and administrative skills.
- Someone with a genuine understanding and compassion for people without a home, who won't judge but instead will empower customers and give them a voice.
- Someone who is flexible and adaptable.
- DBS check.
- Someone with a full UK driving license who is able to use their own vehicle for work purposes.
