As a Housing Support Link Worker, you will support people at risk of homelessness to access the right help before they reach crisis point. You will provide person-centred support, helping people rebuild confidence, independence, and connection with their community.

Based in Oban, you will work on-site to support local people and build strong partnerships with housing providers, community organisations, and local services. This is an opportunity to make a real difference while shaping how homelessness prevention works in rural Argyll & Bute. This post is for 35 hours per week or Job share.

About Us

Carr Gomm is a leading social care and community development charity supporting people across Scotland to live their best lives. In Argyll & Bute, our Housing Support Services support people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to secure housing or maintain their tenancy.

You will work on the Home Secure Argyll pilot project, which delivers early intervention to help people at risk of homelessness. Through this project, you will work in partnership with Citizens Advice Bureau, local housing associations, specialist support providers, and community organisations to prevent homelessness before it reaches crisis point.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone motivated by making a difference and confident supporting people to live their best lives. You will have experience in housing support, homelessness prevention, community or outreach work, or providing advice and guidance to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

  • Communicate clearly and build trust quickly
  • Be proactive, flexible, and solution-focused
  • Show creativity, resilience, and patience
  • Commit to person-centred, values-led support
You will be comfortable balancing immediate priorities while contributing to the longer-term goals of a pilot service.
