The Vacancy

Permanent, Full Time (35 hours per week)

Flexible working hours between 8.00am - 6.00pm Monday - Friday

We're seeking a motivated and compassionate Independent Living Buildings Manager to oversee the day to day operational management of the sheltered accommodation at Cascades.

In this key role, you will play a crucial part in supporting residents by ensuring their safety and security, and addressing any concerns related to repairs and maintenance. You will be responsible for managing potential risks and maintaining a safe living environment for the residents.
  • You will carry out well-being checks and respond to emerging changes in circumstances, identify and manage risk including safeguarding, taking accountability for ensuring that appropriate actions are taken.
  • Ensuring close collaboration with residents, families, colleagues and external agencies to build strong, supportive relationships. You will need to possess exceptional communication skills to effectively engage with residents, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Your role will require active listening and empathetic communication to understand the specific needs of each resident, promote the use of the communal lounge and to stimulate the social life and well-being of the residents by facilitating and running community events.
  • You will routinely carry out health & safety, fire safety and call system checks ensuring both compliance and achievement of consistently high service standards.
To be successful in this role you must have:
  • Experience of working in a housing environment or recent experience of frontline customer service.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office applications and a willingness and aptitude to learn our in-house systems.
  • Excellent record-keeping skills, ensuring that all information is clearly represented and accurately captured.
  • Delivers excellent customer service, including response and resolution of customer feedback and complaints with support from managers as required.
Due to the nature of the post, a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure is required.

Our services do require 24-hour support and staff are expected to work some bank holidays and weekends in line with the services needs.
