The Opportunity

This role is based within Platfform's Supported Housing scheme within the Vale of Glamorgan. The scheme provides tenancy related support to people experiencing difficulties with their mental health. We have two supported housing projects across Barry and Penarth, both offer semi-independent living to a total of 11 residents. You will be part of a team working across both houses offering support between 9am-5pm Monday-Friday, with the addition of support on Saturdays 9am-3pm in the Barry project. The Saturday shifts are on a rota basis and the requirement to work a Saturday averages to 1 shift every 4-5 weeks - this is subsidised by a week day.

The successful candidate will provide a range of social, emotional and practical support to people with mental health and associated problems impacting their ability to maintain a stable tenancy, through a Trauma-Informed approach. The support will be expected to be within commissioner's guidelines i.e. the Supporting People Framework, and in line with Platfform's value base.

The role holder will be expected to provide support development of individual support plans (ISPs) and risk assessments (RAs), as well as take lead during crisis support.

Compliance with and maintenance of all necessary administrative and reporting systems will be required.

Access to your own vehicle, and Class One Business insurance is a mandatory requirement for the role.

About Us

We work with people experiencing challenges with their mental health, and with communities who want to create a greater sense of wellbeing in the places that they live. Through our projects, we work with thousands of people each year.

We believe that long-lasting wellbeing comes about by understanding how lives can be shaped by traumatic experiences, identifying people's strengths and focussing on healing. We know we can't 'fix' people, but we can walk alongside people and help where we can on their journey.

We try hard to make Platfform a great place to work, we live our values and mission in everything that we do.

The people

Platfform is the charity for mental health and social change. We're a supportive team where you can be your whole selves, and know that you're playing a genuine part in building a happier future for people across the UK.

My favourite thing about working for Platfform is being part of a family who cares so passionately to change the world as I do. Everyone is so supportive and welcoming which makes me proud to bring my true authentic self to work every day. Life is too short to do a job in which you don't make a difference and at Platfform you make a difference every single day!"
