Job Description

The Procurement & SRM team works hard to deliver great value for money across The Guinness Partnership. The team plays a key role in the efficient and effective delivery of our group strategic objectives.

About the role

Due to exciting team developments, we are seeking a Procurement & SRM Officer to join the Guinness team. This is a permanent, full-time vacancy which can be based in either our Oldham or central London office.

As a Procurement & SRM Officer, you will support the vital work of our team in managing procurement and contract risk and contributing towards the business achieving value for money throughout our portfolio of contracts and suppliers. You will coordinate day-to-day procurement activities for our low to medium priority contracts and support our Procurement & SRM Partners in carrying out procurement and contract management activities for our most significant contracts, in accordance with Procurement Act 2023.

You will also work closely with our Senior Procurement & SRM Partners to administer our portfolio of externally accessible frameworks and to monitor our team's progress against our procurement pipeline and contract assurance programme.

We appreciate that flexibility is important, so we offer a hybrid working style with three office-based days per week.

What we're looking for

We know that how we do things is just as important as what we do, so you'll not only be experienced in procurement, but you'll also highly motivated with a willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done.

This is a great opportunity for an individual with entry level experience in public sector procurement, that is keen to develop their skills. The role will be part of an established and well-integrated procurement team, with the potential to be involved in a range of interesting projects and to learn and share knowledge with other experienced public sector procurement professionals.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Experience of purchasing/procurement
  • Experience of Contract Management
  • Experience of managing a portfolio of projects, working to tight deadlines and for several different customers
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good analytical & negotiation skills
  • Positive attitude with a solution orientated approach
  • Good oral and written communications
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Essential Qualifications
  • Educated to A Level or equivalent
  • Level 4 CIPS or equivalent.
