At HMP Bristol, we are looking for someone with vision and passion to help people who access our service with their Drug and alcohol use.

As a Recovery Coordinator, you will be supporting them through all aspects of their treatment journey. This can include completing assessments, risk management plans and undertaking one to one work and groupwork.

At Change Grow Live you will be working with people to help them change the direction of their life, grow as an individual, and live life to its full potential.

You will also be supporting the people who access our service to move towards release from custody by working with other agencies to ensure support is in place for addressing substance misuse and or recovery.

Working within a secure prison environment can be challenging but a rewarding experience, you will be provided with training and support needed to undertake this role.

Where: Bristol

Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week

Full Time Salary: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 (pro rata for part time hours)

Contract Type: Perm

Responsibilities

About the role:

  • Strong multidisciplinary engagement, including safer custody and prison offender management.
  • Engagement with the Prison Strategy
  • Identify and encourage service users requiring the offer of family support
  • Carry a full caseload
  • Develop service questionnaires, recovery hubs and focus groups being innovative and motivational
  • Understanding of prison environment and operational knowledge
  • Line manage volunteers
About you:

  • Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field
  • Experience of working with groups/pods and managing group dynamics, such as conflict or challenging behaviour.
  • Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
  • Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice
  • Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
  • Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
  • Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others

CGL points 23 to 28 (£27,861.26 - £32,002.35)
