Join Our Inspire Team in Lancashire - Family Safeguarding Recovery Coordinator

We're offering an exciting opportunity to join our multi-disciplinary Family Safeguarding Team as a Recovery Coordinator in Lancashire. This innovative team works to keep vulnerable families safely together, improve children's health and education, and reduce harm. Using motivational interviewing, we support and empower parents to make positive, lasting changes for themselves and their children.

Working alongside social care practitioners and adult specialists in domestic abuse, mental health, and substance misuse, you'll be part of a passionate, co-located team based within Lancashire County Council Children's Services.

Together, we're helping families stay safe, healthy, and reach their full potential-aligned with the vision set by the Children and Families Partnership Board.

You will be a member of our team of specialist Family Safeguarding Recovery Coordinators. In this role, you will provide intensive substance misuse support on a one to one and group work basis through the Family Safeguarding parent recovery programme in a variety of settings.

Where: Lancashire

Part Time Hours: 22.5 per week

Actual Salary Range: £16,716.76 - £19,201.41 dependent on experience (based on full time hours, pro rata for part time hours)

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About the role:
  • Work closely with local Children's Services Teams and Change Grow Live core team members to help families access relevant support.
  • Provide both specialist and general interventions through one-to-one sessions or group work.
  • Support families in developing key life skills such as budgeting, parenting, and accessing education or employment.
  • Liaise regularly with your Team Leader and Children's Services Team Managers to ensure timely escalation and resolution of concerns.
  • Carry out home visits, conduct drug testing, and complete Parenting Needs Assessments.
  • Prepare detailed written reports and attend meetings including Child Protection Conferences, Core Group Meetings, and Child in Need Meetings.
About you:
  • Experience of working with families displaying challengingbehavior in one or more of the following fields: social work;youth offending; substance misuse; probation; health; familywork; education; youth and community.
  • Ability to manage challenging behavior in a calm and professional manner.
  • Knowledge of current legislation surrounding young people, families, and safeguarding practice.
  • Sound working knowledge of Child Protection.
  • Sensitivity in working with complex and diverse cultural family issues.
  • Sound working knowledge of the impact of hidden harm, honor-based violence, child sexual exploitation and FGM.

Salary Range (pro rata if part time)

CGL points 23 to 28 (£27,861.26 - £32,002.35)
