Recovery Coordinator - 2 Opportunities Available
Location:
West Cumbria Drug and Alcohol Services
Contract Type:
  • 1 x Permanent, Full-Time
  • 1 x Maternity Cover (Fixed Term, to be discussed at length during interview)
We are excited to be recruiting two Recovery Coordinators to join our growing team within West Cumbria Drug and Alcohol Services, delivered by Waythrough.

About the role
In this role, you will manage a service user caseload and deliver evidence-based interventions aligned with personalised recovery plans. This will include close liaison with colleagues across the team, and where appropriate, with families and significant others. You will be working across both of our Whitehaven & Workington hubs.

While prior experience in a similar role is desirable, it is not essential as we offer a comprehensive training programme to support your development.

What's most important is that you share Waythrough's values, ambition, and commitment to delivering the highest standards of care.

As a Recovery Coordinator, you'll bring substance misuse-specific knowledge and interventions to the role, supporting individuals to set and achieve meaningful goals in a safe and structured environment. You will also collaborate with key local partners to support the best possible health and wellbeing outcomes for the people we serve.

As a Recovery Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
  • Manage a caseload of adult service users and provide person-centred care.
  • Co-produce, monitor and review individual recovery and treatment plans.
  • Support service users from initial engagement through to structured treatment and into long-term, self-sustained recovery.
  • Reduce drug and alcohol-related harm to individuals and the wider community.
  • Support access to community or inpatient detox and rehabilitation services.
  • Work closely with colleagues and external partners to coordinate care and support recovery pathways.
About you
We are looking for individuals with:
  • Experience in social care or substance misuse support (preferred but not essential).
  • Transferable skills, even from outside the sector - we welcome diverse backgrounds.
  • A person-centred approach and the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of people.
When submitting your application, please clearly indicate whether you would like to be considered for:
  • The permanent full-time Recovery Coordinator role
  • The fixed-term maternity cover role
  • Or both
Take this opportunity to tell us how you meet the essential criteria and why you would be a great fit for Waythrough.

Please note Internal candidates must still submit a formal application and clearly demonstrate how their skills and experience align with the criteria for the role. Please note if you are an internal applicant in your submission.
