An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead a busy and fast paced housing team within the Derby Homes. You will be responsible for the operational leadership and management of the Homefinder Choice Based Lettings service and Derby Homes Allocations service.
We are seeking an experienced housing manager to lead this team with responsibility for managing the housing register, the choice-based lettings system (Homefinder) and the allocation of social housing. The team are responsible for the timely assessment of housing applications, discharging the Council's various statutory housing duties and realizing our ambitions to support residents who need assistance to resolve their housing need.
The ideal candidate for this role will need to be a responsible and highly organised self-starter, balancing your time between the strategic, operational and project management elements of the role.
You should have a track record of achieving positive results through inter-agency partnerships and a commitment to service improvement.
You will be responsible for reviewing and updating allocations policy & procedure and developing strategy to ensure an efficient housing register and allocations service is delivered.
Knowledge and understanding of local and national strategy and legislation in relation to housing demand and allocation is required. A sound working knowledge of project management is desirable.
The ability to lead a team to ensure performance standards are met is necessary along with the drive and ambition to make a difference to the lives of our residents.
You will need to have an eye for detail and strong interpersonal and negotiation skills working closely with applicants to ensure an efficient housing register and allocations service is delivered.
