MOUP Hours: 35 hours per week, with services operating between 7:45am and 8:10pm, Monday to Sunday worked on a shift rota including 2 on 2 off weekends and shifts across the week. Shifts are either 7:45am to 4:45pm (Early), 10:00am to 6:00pm (Flexi) or 11:10am to 8:10pm (Late).

This role will help us achieve our ambition by working as part of a team within supported housing and outreach services in Greater Manchester, providing high-quality, personalised housing-related support and enablement support to young adult clients.

In this role, you will be responsible for
  • Using coaching and strengths-based approaches to enable clients to develop emotional resilience, overcome barriers, promote independent living and take control of their lives.
  • Taking a lead on liaising with external agencies and raising safeguarding concerns in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Completing Positive Behaviour Plans, Support Plans, Essential Profiles and Risk Assessments.
  • Managing a caseload of clients, with workloads determined by client needs and service demand.
  • Supporting the Project Manager to ensure all aspects of housing management, housing-related support and enablement support are delivered to a high standard.
  • Working as part of a supported housing team to provide high-quality personalised support to young adults with ADHD and ASD, alongside clients with substance misuse support needs.
  • Working with young people and their extended families.
  • Delivering individualised support packages.
We need people who have
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and developments relating to vulnerable adults, including people with ADHD, ASD and substance misuse issues.
  • Knowledge of issues affecting clients, including behaviour management, mental health, leaving care and neurodiversity.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, health and safety procedures, risk management and tenancy management.
  • Experience of working within a supported housing environment or relevant social care setting.
  • Experience of supporting people with complex support needs.
  • Experience of working with statutory agencies and partner organisations.
  • Strong communication, recording, report-writing and IT skills.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships with clients, families, colleagues and partner agencies.
  • The ability to work independently, use initiative and prioritise a demanding workload.
It would be advantageous if you have:
  • Experience of working within supported housing services.
  • Knowledge of legislation and best practice relating to housing support, safeguarding, ADHD, ASD, learning disabilities and substance misuse.
  • A qualification in Health and Social Care or a related subject.
Please note that an Enhanced DBS check is required for this role and you must be able to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays where required.

The ICL team

Our Independent & Community Living team pride themselves on delivering a fantastic service to our customers, providing accommodation-based services to adults and young people across Greater Manchester, and striving to make a real difference in people's lives!

Forging positive and supportive relationships with our customers is central to what we do, none more than in our Community & Independent Living team, where we provide supported housing and independent living schemes for customers of all ages and with a variety of support needs. Whether our team are on-site 24-hours a day supporting young people living with Autism and ADHD, working at one of our fantastic independent living schemes for older people, or based at our specialist service for people with memory loss and dementia, we ensure our customers are at the heart of the services we provide, supporting them to develop and maintain their independence.

As well as working to support our customers, our team also makes sure the services we run are great places to live and really call 'home'. Safety is always a priority, and our teams take a proactive role in making sure homes are always safe, secure and well managed. It's a great feeling for the team knowing they can help to make services better for our customers!

  • We provide nearly 500 homes across 12 schemes for older people in our Independent Living service
  • We work with over 20 different partners to provide specialist support services in our communities
