We have an exciting position available for a Sustainability Manager to join us!
You'll lead on the delivery of One Manchester's carbon reduction retrofit projects, Heat Networks and Utilities, to support the Head of Assets and Sustainability in ensuring One Manchester meets the city's targets for carbon reduction whilst delivering One Manchester's sustainability strategy.

We own and manage over 12,000 homes in central, south and east Manchester. You'll lead on the delivery of One Manchester's carbon reduction retrofit projects, Heat Networks and Utilities, to support the Head of Assets and Sustainability in ensuring One Manchester meets the city's targets for carbon reduction whilst delivering One Manchester's sustainability strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on the delivery of retrofit projects across One Manchester Stock aimed at improving the energy efficiency of our customers homes and ensuring our properties achieve government energy efficiency targets and carbon reduction targets.
- Oversee the performance, maintenance, and optimisation of heat networks and utility systems, ensuring technical compliance, operational efficiency, and integration with sustainability initiatives.
- Provide advice and innovative solutions to improve and maintain the stocks' sustainability and energy efficiency.
- Ensure that customer voice is embedded into future sustainability projects and that high levels of customer satisfaction are achieved. Utilise customer feedback as a tool for continuous improvement.
- Work across OM business team to deliver asset and energy advice.
- Undertake surveys as required, making recommendations for retrofit activity to help improve the energy efficiency of homes.
- Experience of leading a team to deliver retrofit works in a social housing setting.
- Holds the IOSH Managing Safely Certificate (or equivalent), or will work towards.
- A good understanding of complex contractual issues as they relate to repairs and maintenance operations.
- An excellent working knowledge of contract management, complex project delivery and wider programme management.
- A proven manager with both strategic and operational experience including people, contractors and projects.
- Strong communication skills, and a proven track record of successful partnership working with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong IT literacy, particularly experienced in using Microsoft Office packages
- Full driving license.
