A bit about the role Our housing support and care at home service is dedicated to ensuring the independence of a young person within their community. We offer round-the-clock care and support on a 2:1 ratio for a young lady with learning disabilities. We're looking for a Team Leader who'll be a positive role model, while providing line management to a small team of staff, to deliver high standards of care across our Edinburgh and Haddington services. You'll be responsible for rota management, lead on shifts, support staff in their personal development and assist the Registered Manager with the day to day running of the service. You'll work to achieve positive outcomes for the Young Person and will be the go-to person when the Registered Manager is not available. You'll be part of an exceptional team who work together to develop and deliver person-centred care plans. You'll proactively help the young person on her journey to lead a more independent life by supporting her in achieving outcomes, making informed choices, and promoting participation in her community. We strongly believe that behaviour is communication and work to identify what the young people are trying to tell us through their behaviour and support them to communicate that in a positive way. How you'll help to create brighter futures Some key responsibilities of a Team Leader role are; <ul><li>Leading shifts and working with the Registered Manager to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organisational policy and procedure.</li><li>Provide leadership by example to ensure that records, paper and electronic, are maintained and duly uploaded into the appropriate database.</li><li>Support staff team development through training opportunities, staff supervision, and multidisciplinary working.</li><li>Work to achieve positive outcomes for individual children and young people and contributing to the achievement of an outstanding, good or equivalent rating in external inspection including deputising in the absence of the Registered Manager.</li></ul>Let's talk about you <ul><li>Must possess SVQ 3 in Social Services &amp; Healthcare, or HNC Social Services or equivalent / SVQ4 in Social Services or Healthcare or willing to work towards / SSSC registered.</li><li>Previous experience of supervising staff.</li><li>Significant experience of working with children and young people with Learning Disabilities.</li><li>Confident in all aspects of MS Office.</li><li>Experience of coaching and supporting staff to reach a competent standard.</li><li>Ability to work under pressure while maintaining drive and enthusiasm and to be able to deal with children and young people effectively and safely with challenging behaviour.</li></ul>Good to know Application Process Please note we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role. A bit about the role Our housing support and care at home service is all about empowering young individuals to live independently within their own homes and communities. We currently provide full-time, 2:1 care and support for two young people, a young man and a young woman. Both our young people have a learning disability and can at times present with behaviours that challenge. They live individually in their own tenancies and our aim is to promote and develop their skills and advocate on their behalf. Our approach is centred on assisting them with daily routines, personal care, and medication, all while nurturing their zest for life and activity. We keep them engaged with exciting adventures, walks, swimming, surfing, park visits, and exploring new experiences. As a Housing Support Worker in our team, you'll play a crucial role in creating and implementing personalised care plans. You'll have the rewarding opportunity to support our young people in their journey towards greater independence, helping them achieve milestones, make informed decisions, and actively engage with their community.
