About the role We are looking for a passionate and proactive Sustainability Manager who is skilled at building both internal cross-discipline, and external cross-sector partnerships that will underpin Pearson's social impact programmes. This is a high-energy, delivery-focused role, where you will be comfortable navigating complexity, coordinating across teams and driving progress independently with support and guidance from Pearson colleagues. The Sustainability Manger will also work cross functionally to implement an employee engagement programme and help shape communications to encourage participation and promote Pearson's work in this area. Location: This position offers a hybrid working model from our Central London office, but remote applicants from across the UK will also be considered. Key responsibilities <ul> <li>Support the delivery of social impact action plans for critical projects across the company, including employee activities, training, apprenticeship, sustainability, and supply-chain initiatives to maximise community benefit.</li> <li>Coordinate and facilitate engagement with local communities, external agencies, charities, and social enterprises to identify opportunities for collaboration and implement social impact activities.</li> <li>Take a proactive role in shaping and implementing an employee engagement strategy to contribute to social impact programmes (e.g. skill-based volunteering).</li> <li>Work collaboratively with project teams to embed social impact objectives in tendering, procurement, and business delivery.</li> <li>Assist the development of a social impact reporting strategy and data collection system to communicate performance effectively.</li> <li>Monitor, measure, and report on social impact outcomes using recognised frameworks (e.g. Social Value Portal, TOMS).</li> <li>Actively network and represent the company at social impact-related events and speaking engagements to encourage ongoing dialogue with stakeholders and promote Pearson's work in this area.</li> <li>Support budget management for social impact programs, ensuring funds are allocated efficiently and effectively.</li> <li>Identify and explore funding opportunities, including commercial partners' funding grants and sponsorships, to support social impact initiatives.</li> </ul>What we are looking for <ul> <li>Demonstrable experience in Social Value, Corporate Social Responsibility, Fundraising and / or Community Engagement role.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work independently, managing multiple stakeholders, with a proven track record of implementing and promoting successful social impact programmes.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of social impact frameworks and best practices, including program development, and partnership-building.</li> <li>Experience of evaluation, measuring and reporting on social impact, including collecting data to evaluate programme effectiveness and outcomes.</li> <li>Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate collaboration and influence and inspire internal and external stakeholders.</li> <li>Proactive approach that demonstrates initiative and positive work ethic to ensure activities are delivered to the required time, budget and quality.</li> </ul>Your Reward &amp; Benefits We know you'll do great work, so we give a lot back with some of the best benefits in the business.
