We are looking for a knowledgeable and dedicated Housing Options Officer to join our current team. Drawing on proven experience of dealing with customers in a busy front line service, you will offer professional advice on a range of housing options to potentially homeless customers. The Housing Options Officer will work with customers to resolve their housing situation, with an emphasis on preventing homelessness, using a range of tools, giving timely advice on housing options across a wide spectrum of tenures, as well as applying relevant legislation. Duties will include carrying out interviews, home visits, liaison with other agencies, negotiations, agreeing and monitoring personal housing plans, in addition to arranging temporary or permanent accommodation for customers facing homelessness. The successful candidate will have proven experience of conducting interviews in stressful situations and be a skilled negotiator who is persuasive in challenging situations. You will have a working knowledge of housing/homelessness legislation, welfare benefit reforms, rent arrears procedures, private sector issues and will be able to handle a large and complex workload. Use of a car is required and you must be able to participate in a 24 hour out of hours rota. We operate a 'hybrid working' model with a mix of office based, home and remote working available when suitable. The contractual base will be office based with agreed flexibility to work from home or at remote working locations in the borough. The Warwickshire Separated Children and Leaving Care Team is based in Warwick at Myton Park. We are a countywide service offering provision up to the age of 25. The Separated Children Team work with children aged 0-25 working to enable young people to settle and manage their asylum status. This role will specifically work with migrant children and young people to reduce homelessness and enable planned approaches through working with local district and borough housing departments and other services. The applicant will support young people through a good knowledge of immigration legislation and support young people through navigating the system. At times of crisis the role works to explore alternative options where a young person has been evicted or cannot access housing through traditional routes. You will be an experienced supported housing professional who is familiar with leading, supporting and managing teams (in a hands-on way) to help those experiencing multiple disadvantage or severe multiple disadvantage to overcome barriers to achieving greater independence. You will have an in-depth knowledge of best-practice and current thinking when working with vulnerable people or families facing homelessness, who require support with mental-health, substance misuse, a history of offending and other needs. Using your knowledge and skills to help us create one of the most effective outcomes-focused services in the sector, adhering to the Making Every Adult Matter principles (MEAM). You will be familiar with and have experience of effectively supporting teams to work in a strength-based and trauma informed way. Taking personal pride and ownership in supporting your team (and the wider department / organisation) develop those approaches in support of helping residents achieve outcomes far beyond their expectations. You will have worked in an accommodation-based setting, with significant experience of providing intensive housing management, and tenancy management tasks. Housing / Homeless Support Worker

We are currently recruiting for 2 Temporary Accommodation Officers who will all play a key role in providing safe emergency temporary accommodation to a vulnerable and chaotic single homeless cohort within the framework or Leicester City Council's Homelessness Strategy. You'll form part of a 19- person team providing temporary accommodation to single homeless individuals and childless couples. This a full-time permanent post based at the Dawn Centre. You will work a 19-week rota which consists of 12 hour day shifts commencing at 8am and 12 hour waking night shifts which commence at 20.00pm on alternate weeks providing 24/7 365 days per year. We have several significant projects in the pipeline making this a very exciting time and opportunity to join the Dawn Centre. What you'll be doing As a Temporary Accommodation Officer, you'll be undertaking the interviewing, admission and induction of service users on arrival at the Dawn Centre. Another important part of the role is to oversee the maintenance, security and infrastructure of the Dawn Centre and undertake domestic duties when required. The well-being of our individuals is paramount and therefore you'll also conduct regular welfare checks. On occasion, you'll be required to deal with challenging incidents and resolve conflict, often in sensitive situations whilst maintaining order in accordance with Dawn Centre protocols. This is a critical face-to-face frontline role which will require a high level of resilience and communication skills with colleagues, individuals, and other agencies. In addition, you'll be responsible for maintaining up-to-date and accurate records using the Microsoft Office package and internal databases.
