Housing Officer Canterbury - covering Thanet, Deal and Canterbury areas. £34,531 per year plus £600 car allowance (pro rata) 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday, Temporary position for up to 6 months We are seeking a Housing Officer to join our Kent Housing team that is part of the South East Region. You will be responsible for providing a high-quality housing management service that meets the identified needs of customers and the wider community. You will be working in a professional manner to resolve problems and improve services. Each day will involve working as part of a team to respond to resident tenancy related queries in person, email and telephone as well as addressing concerns involving residents homes, the environment and neighbour relations. The role of Housing Officer will include: <ul><li>Effective management of anti-social behaviour cases</li><li>Liaising with colleagues in Property Services and Lettings to ensure the effective allocation of void properties</li><li>Managing tenant expectations regarding repairs and escalating any property maintenance issues affecting tenant welfare via appropriate channels</li><li>Managing complaints about service delivery</li><li>Working with colleagues in other service areas to help the organisation meet its compliance obligations (fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety and data protection)</li><li>Delivering general advice on all aspects of tenancy to enable sustainability</li><li>Working closely with administrative colleagues to complete a range of tenancy management processes</li></ul>Skills and experiences: <ul><li>Proven experience of undertaking a similar role</li><li>Prior experience of delivering high quality tenancy services</li><li>Excellent skills in analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing solutions</li><li>Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external customers</li><li>Excellent customer service and negotiating skills</li><li>An understanding of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook</li><li>Excellent communication skills both verbal and written</li><li>Working knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice</li><li>Occasional travel may be a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving license is essential</li></ul>Why work for us? Housing Officer

About the Role Southend Medical Practice are seeking an experienced prescribing paramedic or nurse to join our team. Reporting to a GP clinical lead, they will be a motivated individual who has a passion on tackling health inequalities, and particularly an interest in healthcare for the homeless population. This role is offered on a contract basis, covering maternity for 12 months. It is a part-time position for 22.5 hours per week, working over 3 days with the working pattern and hours negotiable. Southend Integrated Healthcare for the Homeless (SIHH) provides a service specific to homeless individuals within Southend on Sea. The role will include a range of activities addressing the individual health and wellbeing, the development of pathways into specialist services, caring for the homeless and improve the overall health inequalities by: <ul> <li>Health promotion</li> <li>General health screening</li> <li>Engagement in primary care services and facilitate access to organised health care</li> <li>Integration of the service with secondary care services, mental health services and local drug and alcohol services</li> <li>Working closely with local voluntary providers involved in looking after the local homeless population.</li></ul>The purpose of this role will be imperative in improving integrated pathways to prevent fragmented services to become efficient and effective. The role is specifically to support those to improve health outcomes. The collective aim of the service is to help those with a range of health needs including drug and alcohol to access the appropriate treatment, to provide clinical assessment and treatment in the community along with signposting clients to GP services, secondary care, drug and alcohol services. Main responsibilities will include; <ul> <li>Provide a specialist primary care service and outreach clinics for local soup kitchen, homeless individuals and local homeless charities in Southend. </li> <li>Work as a member of the multidisciplinary team in the management and treatment provision. General health assessment, wound assessment and management, lifestyle assessment and physical health assessment. </li> <li>Promote health and wellbeing and improve health inequalities by completing a range of health checks including a review of systems to include, neurological, cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, hepatic, renal, lymphatic, reproductive health and musculoskeletal.</li> <li>Assess general health and provide early intervention treatment, sign posting and referral to organised health services.</li> <li>Develop and maintain pathways into specialist services to ensure the health and well-being of residents is met, including back into primary care services, secondary care, mental health, drugs and alcohol and voluntary sector.</li> <li>Sign post service users to the appropriate health care settings to meet their needs. </li> <li>Single point of contact for primary care services, local hospitals and other organised health care services.</li> <li>Provide regular drop-in clinical sessions at various locations of homeless support organisations</li> <li>Actively promote female health screening.</li></ul>About the Candidate If you are an experienced paramedic or nurse wanting a new challenge, we would love to hear from you. Independent Reviewing Officer Role Responsibility Kent's Independent Reviewing Service is seeking to recruit a full-time permanent Independent Reviewing Officer. This post provides an exciting opportunity to influence the delivery of good social work practice and promote positive outcomes for children and young people in our care. Successful applicants will be part of a large and supportive team. In order to apply for this post, you must have a recognised Social Work qualification, be Registered with Social Work England and have extensive experience of working within Children's Services, with previous LAC experience and a Team Leader/Manager with supervisory experience. You will have proven skills in chairing complex multi-agency meetings and a knowledge of current children's legislation and practice. You will have excellent written and verbal communication, IT skills and the ability to prioritise your own work and respond to tight deadlines. You will remain objective whilst developing effective working relationships with Social Workers, their managers and other professionals involved in promoting the safety and welfare of children in care.
