Income Recovery Officer

Kent County Council
locationMaidstone, UK
PublishedPublished: Published 1 week ago
Full Time
Income Recovery Officer

Role Responsibility

We are looking to recruit within our Financial Assessment and Income Unit. The position of Income Recovery Officer is based in Maidstone however, we undertake hybrid working, meaning that we work from home and the office, depending on business needs. The Authority currently supports hybrid working, however, office attendance is required at least once a month after an initial 4-6 week in person training period.

The teams working within the Financial Assessment and Income Unit are expanding and adapting to improve the recovery of income following non-payment of an invoice. You will, through excellent technical knowledge and a pro-active approach, improve income collection and reduce debt owed to the authority.

You must be positive, engaging, adaptable to change, and possess excellent organisational, numeracy and communication skills. You will be able to demonstrate compassion and knowledge when working with debtors to ensure that recovery is efficient, informative, and successful.

If you are flexible, adaptable, can work under pressure, hold all the necessary skills, experience, and knowledge, and are prepared to go the extra mile, then this is an excellent opportunity for you to work within a dynamic and developing environment.

We politely request that all applicants state their interest, skills, and experience for this role (relevant to the job description) in the 'Reason for Application' section of their online application form.

As an employee of Kent County Council, you will receive excellent benefits, including a generous annual leave package and membership of the pension scheme. Full training and support will be provided and there will be opportunities for career progression, including support to gain relevant qualifications.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Interviews will be conducted Thursday 13th and Friday 14th August 2026
