Senior Private Sector Initiatives Officer

Job Information ROLE OF THE JOB You will deliver effective tenancy management to customers within a defined geographical area and be a key point of contact for customer to deliver a range of tenancy management services including; changes in tenancies, property inspections, tenancy breaches and estate management. You will carry out home visits to all customers on a regular, planned basis to identify and assist with any issues that may support the sustainability of the tenancy. You will be responsible for planning and conducting regular inspections of the neighbourhood in partnership with customers, Councillors, Police and Local Services and develop a continuous action plan to ensure that the neighbourhoods are maintained as safe and attractive places. You will be responsible for the matching and allocation of properties and then arranging and carrying out accompanied viewings, ensuring all sign ups of new tenancies including garage tenancies are carried out in a timely manner to maximise rental income and minimise potential rent loss. You will also actively develop and promote resident engagement at a neighbourhood level, attending meetings and other activities where appropriate including those which occur outside of normal office hours. The Role We are looking to appoint an Independent Living Support Workers to join the team at Ferndene and provide excellent support. Ferndene comprises of 9 self-contained bungalows, with staff facilities, gardens and car parking. The people at Ferndene require assistance throughout the day to enable them to lead fulfilling lives. Our Independent Supported Living schemes are home for individuals with learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities who require support with everyday living tasks, cooking, cleaning, organising social activities, support to health appointments and to live as independently as possible. You will need to be enthusiastic, with a positive outlook on life and a real desire to help people achieve their goals and reach their full potential. A great team player, who is flexible, organised and has the skills to work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the people we support receive the highest level of care is required. Being able to adapt and respond to evolving situations with a person-centred approach is essential for an independent living scheme. The Role We are looking to appoint a BSL (British Sign Language) Independent Living Support Worker. This is an exciting opportunity to help build our BSL ISL provision and provide excellent support. Due to the demands of the service, successful candidates must complete and pass British Sign Language Level 1. Training will be provided and consists of approximately three 10 week modules, 2 hours per week. The property is a 2 bedroom home located in a residential area in Newcastle, a short walk from the City Centre, St James Park, the Town Moore and Leazes Park as well as local transport services which opens up the whole of the North East to the people we support. There is also parking available. The role is to support 2 young gentlemen moving into their first home following completing College. The role will be to support both men to find new and exciting opportunities in and around their new home and to support them to grow relationships and connections, positively impacting their quality of life. You will be responsible for supporting with all aspects of daily living, including support at home, to go to different community places and support with personal care. One young person that you will be supporting will have seizure activity which is generally nocturnal. This person can also have escalated behaviours and self-injurious behaviours. The other young person has a dysphagia need with an IDDSI Level 6 soft and bite sized diet. The Foundation offers both mandatory and person specific training to support candidates to be able to meet these individuals needs and to support continuous development in career pathways. Requirements We are looking for candidates with an understanding of Positive behaviour Support and meeting complex needs of autistic people, who display behaviour that may challenge. Candidates must also have the drive to complete the BSL qualification whilst working for the Foundation to support positive communication and meet both individual's needs. You will need to be enthusiastic, friendly, enjoy your work and have a positive outlook on life and a real desire to help people achieve their goals and reach their full potential.
