Homelessness Support Coordinator Application Deadline: 9 November 2025 Department: Resettlement - Penzance Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Penzance Reporting To: Faye Hookins Compensation: GBP 29,352 / year Description As a Homelessness Support Coordinator, you will work with individuals who have been rough sleeping or who are at risk of rough sleeping in Cornwall. You will carry out intensive assessments to identify clients' support and housing needs, advocate for them and help them to access the services they need. As part of the Non-Residential team primarily based at the Breadline Centre in Penzance, you will also be expected to provide cover at the Truro Resource Centre when required. Your duties will include the organisation of groups and meetings within the projects, supporting colleagues with assessments and the reconnection of clients to their hometowns, and facilitating the "drop in" sessions provided by the organisation. Whilst you will normally work within the services' opening hours, there will be a requirement for occasional evening and weekend work as directed by the Non-Residential Service Manager. This will include providing support to St Petrocs' emergency "Winter Service" during the colder months. Interviews are expected to take place on Thursday 13th November. What you'll be doing. <ol><li>Work with clients to provide an intensive assessment of their social, welfare and housing needs.</li><li>Prepare a comprehensive risk management and support plan with the client to address their needs.</li><li>Locate and provide housing, social and welfare solutions in accordance with the needs assessment.</li><li>Liaise with partner and specialist agencies to enable rough sleepers to access their services (e.g. housing, drug and alcohol, health, welfare rights and legal services).</li><li>Establish a profile of the needs of service users and maintain digital records. This will include keeping accurate file and case notes.</li><li>Negotiate access for clients to any appropriate forms of accommodation and ensure that appropriate support is available.</li><li>Advocate for people sleeping rough in accessing services, including 'reconciliation' work with other agencies.</li><li>Liaise regularly and work closely with partner, voluntary and statutory agencies. Weekend Housing Support Worker - Young People's Services

About the role This is a hands-on, community-based role where no two days are the same. You'll work directly with residents, supporting them to manage their tenancies and live well in their homes. Using your knowledge of housing law and services, you'll take early action to resolve issues, support positive outcomes, and uphold landlord responsibilities. From tackling anti-social behaviour to managing tenancy breaches and improving estates, you'll be out and about on your patch - building stronger, safer neighbourhoods one day at a time. We want you to care about where you work and make a difference for these residents and communities. What you'll need to be successful: <ul><li>Confidence working with people in challenging situations - you'll build long-term relationships with residents, manage sensitive conversations, support vulnerable tenants, and take enforcement action where needed. You'll also represent us in multi-agency meetings, so being calm, credible and professional matters.</li><li>Experience of delivering a technical service and using legislation - you'll be applying landlord and tenancy law and making decisions that impact people's homes and lives. If your experience isn't housing, you'll need transferable evidence of applying technical knowledge in similar roles. In all these scenarios, people skills matter to us just as much.</li><li>Proven experience of casework, partnership working and record keeping - you'll lead complex issues for the benefit of our residents, working with colleagues across other statutory services, health and social care and the Police, so experience in good case management is important.</li><li>Evidence of empowering communities and neighbourhoods - we want to empower our residents to make a difference to their communities so your experience of engagement, improvement projects and involving stakeholders in local decision-making really matters. </li><li>Good judgement and resilience - you'll know when to listen, when to challenge, and when to escalate. This role isn't always easy, and you'll be trusted to manage risk, make fair decisions, and take action in the best interests of residents, the community, and for Cornwall Housing.</li><li>A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle - this is a patch-based role covering around 500 homes where visibility matters. Neighbourhood Housing Officer

Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Practice Nurse to work with the Cornwall Health for Homeless team. Cornwall Health for Homeless is a GP Practice &amp; we aim to provide a range of healthcare services to people without homes in Cornwall. The service runs regular clinics in Truro, Camborne and Penzance that are open to people who are either street homeless or in temporary accommodation. To achieve this, we work with other organisations which include St Petroc's and Coastline Homeless Service as well as other local and national statutory groups. Part of our role is to help people live more stable lives and gain access to suitable accommodation. Over the last two years we have expanded our service from our three clinic sites to include outreach clinics countywide and we are seeking a Practice Nurse (Band 6) to join the team in an extended role, supporting &amp; working collaboratively with the GPs.
