This role uses strategic community engagement, trusted relationshipbuilding, and deep local insight to advance chronicdisease clinical trials and broaden access to research participation. • A core requirement is a strong understanding of patient pathways, disease indications, and the reality that not every patient is the same. The Community Engagement Manager must recognise the diverse needs, motivations, barriers, and health determinants that shape each community and tailor engagement and messaging accordingly. • Success also requires a practical understanding of local healthcare systems, including referral structures, primary and community care networks, health inequalities, chronicdisease prevalence, and how to insert Civia and/or Thrive into these ecosystems in a credible, valueadding way. • The role demands the ability to conduct effective stakeholder mapping, identifying highvalue partners, organisations, influencers, and access points that can support patient identification and funnel growth. They must apply disciplined judgement to prioritise highvalue opportunities and use a "do not proceed" mindset when activities do not provide meaningful patient recruitment return or community value. • As a communityfacing representative of Civia and Thrive, this individual must confidently and credibly represent both brands in external interactions. They will build trust rapidly with community leaders, partners, and local influencers while communicating our mission clearly and respectfully. • This is a selfstarter role requiring high levels of autonomy, personal motivation, and ownership. The Community Engagement Manager must be comfortable driving their own outreach schedule, identifying opportunities, developing new partnerships, and delivering results without daytoday direction. Due to the demands of the service, successful candidates must complete and pass British Sign Language Level 1. Training will be provided and consists of approximately three 10 week modules, 2 hours per week. The property is a 2 bedroom home located in a residential area in Newcastle, a short walk from the City Centre, St James Park, the Town Moore and Leazes Park as well as local transport services which opens up the whole of the North East to the people we support. There is also parking available. The role is to support 2 young gentlemen moving into their first home following completing College. The role will be to support both men to find new and exciting opportunities in and around their new home and to support them to grow relationships and connections, positively impacting their quality of life. You will be responsible for supporting with all aspects of daily living, including support at home, to go to different community places and support with personal care. One young person that you will be supporting will have seizure activity which is generally nocturnal. This person can also have escalated behaviours and self-injurious behaviours. The other young person has a dysphagia need with an IDDSI Level 6 soft and bite sized diet. The Foundation offers both mandatory and person specific training to support candidates to be able to meet these individuals needs and to support continuous development in career pathways.
