In the Housing Officer role you will: <ul> <li>Deliver a proactive service, supporting tenants to sustain their tenancies, promoting thriving communities, and resolving tenancy queries, complaints, rent arrears, and anti-social behaviour cases</li> <li>Engage with tenants in the community, identifying those in need of support and signposting them to appropriate services, including social, financial, and welfare support agencies</li> <li>Collaborate with colleagues, partner organisations, and community groups to ensure a joined-up approach to housing management and continuous service improvement</li> <li>Manage a varied caseload of properties, maintaining accurate records and using ICT systems to ensure efficient, high-quality service delivery</li> <li>Act independently while making informed decisions in line with housing legislation, organisational policies, and values, balancing competing priorities and deadlines</li></ul>To be considered for the Housing Officer job you must have: <ul> <li>Previous experience in a housing-related role or similar</li> <li>Knowledge of housing legislation, housing issues, and ideally homelessness legislation</li> <li>Experience of working in a customer-facing environment and with vulnerable tenants</li> <li>Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills</li> <li>IT literacy with basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)</li> <li>A full UK driving licence and access to a car for work purposes</li></ul>This is a temporary role for 6 weeks initially, working full time (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday). The Role - Housing Support Worker (St Mary's) - Night Shifts Our St Mary's Hostel in Bangor is a self-referral hostel providing support and accommodation to 13 homeless people, creating support plans based on individual needs whilst helping them to find somewhere more permanent to live. You will be committed to putting the customer at the heart of everything you do by contributing towards the delivery of a person-centred trauma informed support in a 24-hr homeless hostel.
