You will assess needs, make statutory decisions in relation to potentially homeless customers and work with applicants to secure rehousing which meets their requirements You will undertake housing allocations, housing list management, voids management and deliver devolved, high quality landlord services by engaging with customers and partners to minimise void loss and ensure best use is made of the council's housing stock and voids management. We are currently shaping our future workstyles however, in light of current advice, we are introducing blended home/office working that will include office access days each week with homeworking for the remainder of your working time. The Person You should be educated to SCQF level 7, which includes HNC or Advanced Highers or equivalent in housing or related discipline and have the ability and commitment to complete qualification in Housing Advice Law SCQF level 7. You will be expected to provide prevention led accredited housing options advice, including initiating early intervention actions to prevent homelessness if required. Liaising with a wide range of partners and stakeholders as appropriate. Providing ongoing case management support throughout the customer journey including completing comprehensive housing and support needs assessments, coproducing Personal Housing Plans, and undertaking activity to identify and progress appropriate housing options. Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland. As a Housing Management Officer, you will form part of an Area Housing Team that delivers on improved services. You will be responsible for a specific neighbourhood, ensuring high quality, well-run estates through the assessment of need of individuals, properties and neighbourhoods, followed by the development of solutions which range from prescribed processes to self-developed initiatives. You will deliver high quality landlord services to build stable communities by sustaining tenancies and engaging with customers and partners to make required improvements. You will be able to provide high standards of Customer Care while encouraging local people to maintain Estate Standards. The Person If you meet the essential qualification criteria outlined below, we'd like to hear from you: We are looking for an individual who has knowledge of the Scottish Secure and Short Scottish Secure Tenancies and who has experience of working with a range of Supports available to tenants. You will have experience of partnership working when managing tenancies. You will be committed to assisting tenants to sustain their tenancy, while also taking action against any breaches of tenancy. You will need good time management, communications and organisational skills. You will also possess IT Skills. You will be educated to SCQF level 5 or equivalent and you will require (if you do not already hold this) to undertake the Homepoint 2 qualification. Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
