About The Role Are you passionate about the delivery of affordable housing? Do you want to use your experience in housing or the built environment to make a genuine and positive difference to people's lives? Fareham Borough Council are building new Council homes, regenerating existing stock, and growing an ambitious pipeline programme of schemes for the future. You could be a part of this. This role would provide you with an opportunity to identify sites, lead projects from inception to completion, and to be a key part of a small team who are providing new, high quality, affordable homes. About You We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and who can make a positive contribution to the delivery of affordable homes, to join our supportive team. Your role will be diverse; as well as our own new build programme, you'll be championing our 'right homes, right place' principle by helping ensure the affordable homes delivered through the planning system match the Borough's need. You'll also work closely with the wider housing team to support our strategic objectives. You'll have a good understanding of, and experience in, affordable housing or the planning system, good report writing skills, the ability to project plan, and to think strategically. You will need to be a self-starter who is able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team; supporting the work of the Affordable Housing Delivery Manager and the wider organisation when required. You will have a customer orientated approach whilst being able to confidently articulate your considered thoughts both verbally and in writing for a variety of audiences. At times the role will require tact and diplomacy, as well as good influencing and persuasive skills. You will have dealings with elected members and therefore political awareness is desirable.As a minimum you'll be educated to degree level of equivalent, or able to demonstrate extensive and relevant experience for the nature of work involved.
