You'll work to agreed procedures to have full control over a caseload of accounts and progress them through the rent arrears process. This'll include recording contacts, agreements and referrals, and ensuring that customers are provided with the right support that they need. You'll gain a good understanding of who our customers are and the support that they may need to sustain their tenancies, so that eviction is always the last resort. You'll develop a good knowledge of benefits and understand how they're paid and managed. And make sure the business and customer impacts are understood as part of the arrears process. You'll have a good working relationship with various teams such as neighbourhoods and tenancy support. As well as developing connections with external partners and agencies who help us to provide the right level of support to our customers. This includes housing options and homelessness teams to meet the needs of our customers. You'll bring your wealth of experience in debt recovery and awareness/understanding of the social housing sector. Also, your effective communication and relationship building skills which will help you to succeed in this role. Income Recovery Officer

Job summary To work in a clinical capacity providing mental health interventions - including assessments and treatment to clients at risk of experiencing homelessness or with a history of experiencing homelessness, as identified by Test Valley Borough Council's Housing Options Team, or Hampshire and IOW NHS Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust's community mental health or the inpatient flow teams outside of established pathways. To contribute to breaking down the barriers to accessing and sustaining health care and suitable settled accommodation for the identified client group. To actively work with other agencies to provide wider support and address underlying causes of homelessness, developing referral routes between the Council and partner organisations across the wider system (including statutory and voluntary sector services). Main duties of the job To work with single people who are at risk of or have a history of, experiencing homelessness and or rough sleeping known as the client group in various settings. To identify and assess mental health needs of the client group, outside of the normal established mental health provisions and pathways. Undertake comprehensive assessments, over a period of time, including risk assessments and risk management of the client group. Utilise advanced clinical skills in assessment to formulate a treatment plan, including monitoring the response to medication and assess critically and re-evaluate the clinical situation as the patient's condition changes, reporting back to the prescriber as appropriate. To support patients of the client group to make changes to support recovery from mental health illness, substance misuse and maladaptive coping strategies. To take the lead in multi-agency meetings in support of those affected by poor mental health. This includes arranging and chairing multi-agency professional and risk management meetings. Homeless Recovery Worker

The Vacancy FULL TIME - 37hrs Portsmouth Young People Services provides supported accommodation for up to 83 young people between the age of 16 and 25, including care leavers and looked after children. The service operates across three locations, each is tailored to the needs of the clients and offer various levels of support. Our aim is to support to young people with their individual needs to enable then to gain life skills to move on to lower or independent supported living. This is a fast paced, energetic service. Homeless Recovery Worker (Young People)

The Vacancy Full time - 37 hrs - FTC Working on a rota basis, 10am to 6pm 5 days a week, will include working some weekends. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES <ul> <li>You will have your own caseload of clients to manage and will work with them on a one to one basis. You will identify their needs by listening to them and put together a client needs assessment and manage risks.</li> <li>Carrying out housing management duties such as collecting service charges at various locations</li> <li>Covering Health and Safety duties at various locations</li> <li>Support to move clients on from accommodation services to suitable accommodation options</li> <li>You will mediate and or negotiate with existing housing providers to help prevent homelessness</li> <li>You will help and support individuals by providing advice on housing, welfare benefits, rent deposits and household goods via a variety of schemes.</li> <li>You will help clients with the practicalities of moving to new accommodation, such as contacting energy suppliers</li> <li>You will encourage individuals to develop practical skills such as budgeting, shopping, cooking, housework, laundry, personal health and hygiene</li> <li>Carrying out drop in sessions at designated locations.</li> <li>Liaise with colleges, training agencies, employers to help clients to gain access to education, find work or maintain their benefit entitlement</li> <li>Advise client on appropriate agencies to contact i.e. debt and housing issues</li> <li>Travel and cover services across a geographical patch as and when required</li> <li>Any other reasonable duties required in the interest of the organisation</li></ul>ESSENTIAL CRITERIA FOR ROLE (Minimum requirements on appointment to this job) Previous experience in this sector is not essential but you will be able to demonstrate a real passion for wanting to work with vulnerable people in the homeless sector.
