The position of Support Worker is referred to internally at Sanctuary as Project Worker. The role of Project Worker will include: <ul> <li>Providing support to encourage our customers who have faced homelessness to maximise their own potential and independence</li> <li>Assessing customers' needs by writing and updating support plans</li> <li>Being a first point of call to receive and direct all customer queries</li> <li>Developing relationships with customers, ensuring that customers maintain personal choice, privacy, and dignity</li> <li>Liaising with external support links to improve customers' confidence, health and wellbeing and offer training and encouragement towards employment and education</li> <li>Handling occasional emergency situations</li> <li>Keeping accurate and high-quality written records</li></ul>Skills and experiences: <ul> <li>Experience of working with adults who have experienced homelessness</li> <li>Enthusiastic and flexible with a strong "can-do" attitude</li> <li>Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative</li> <li>Strong organisational skills as well as functional literacy and numeracy</li> <li>Ability to react quickly to changing priorities whilst working to deadlines and targets</li> <li>NVQ3 in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards is essential</li></ul>Are you ready to be your best? Our broader service includes: 21 units for clients with medium support needs, 16 units designed for medium and high-risk prison leaves, and 8 units dedicated to young people under 24 years old with medium to low support needs. In this role, you will help manage 11 units, providing essential support to clients. Your responsibilities will include handling referrals, conducting assessments, and supporting clients to maintain their accommodation while empowering them to make meaningful, positive changes in their lives. You will also play a key role in building and maintaining effective, collaborative working relationships with partner agencies involved in supporting each client's journey. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful different in the lives of vulnerable individuals as they work towards stability and independence.
