You’ll coordinate investigations into malpractice, manage enforcement actions under the Renters Rights Act 2025, and work closely with other agencies to uphold legal responsibilities. Safeguarding vulnerable adults and children is central to everything we do.&nbsp; What You’ll Be Doing&nbsp; In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of protecting tenants and improving housing standards in Torbay. You’ll:&nbsp;<ul><li>Deliver early interventions to prevent homelessness and support vulnerable individuals.</li><li>Investigate complaints from tenants and assess whether landlords are acting within the law.</li><li>Manage cases involving illegal evictions and unlawful landlord behaviour. </li><li>Carry out property visits, gather evidence, and conduct formal interviews to support enforcement and legal action. </li><li>Advise clients on their rights and next steps and work with other teams to secure appropriate housing outcomes. </li><li>Take action to reinstate access to illegally excluded tenants and refer unsafe housing to the Housing Standards Team. </li><li>Collaborate with other agencies to deliver flexible, responsive services that meet local needs. </li><li>Champion safeguarding, ensuring the protection of vulnerable adults and children is embedded in everything you do.&nbsp;</li></ul>We’re seeking a motivated and resilient professional who can work independently and as part of a team.&nbsp; This is a dynamic role involving both office-based and field work. Senior Private Rented Sector Investigation and Enforcement Officer - 37 hours

Job Overview: This role will be operating in the area of the South West, covering the area of Exeter, and with travel to surrounding areas. Working to support our CAS3 contract with the Ministry of Justice, this role involves managing a number of self-contained and small shared accommodation properties within the region. In addition to providing proactive property management, the role involves engaging with residents (People On Probation) who may have complex needs/multiple disadvantage, on release from prison, CAS1 or CAS2, with the goal of ensuring a smooth transition into the allocated accommodation. The role does include an element of supervision to ensure 'house rules' and license agreements are being adhered to, along with offering housing related, 'light touch' support and signposting where needed. While you will be part of a small regional team and a larger business, this is predominantly a lone working role and you will need to be comfortable driving between locations. Responsibilities and Duties: Managing a number of properties specifically allocated to the MOJ. You will engage with individuals with complex needs and will be able to work without supervision and have experience of lone working.
