BAM offer Flexible working Your mission <ul><li>Assist with maintenance duties to ensure that the general upkeep and maintenance of the premises is satisfactory. </li><li>Supervise decoration programmes as agreed with the Site Co-coordinator/Deputy Facilities Manager/Facilities Manager.</li><li>Minor improvement work, as agreed with the Site Co-coordinator/Deputy Facilities Manager/Facilities Manager.</li><li>Make arrangements for dealing with emergencies which occur outside normal hours.</li><li>Assist with ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the heating and boiler systems and assist with the maintenance of the appropriate records.</li><li>Assist with the execution of carrying out weekly fire alarm tests.</li><li>Undertake such other duties appropriate to the post as may from time to time be required to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the school as directed.</li></ul>Caretaking <ul><li>Supervision of cleaning staff, that the staff are redeployed as necessary to meet all the requirements of the school.</li><li>Ensure that satisfactory levels of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained with regard to buildings, external walkways, drives, playgrounds, gullies, car parks, playing fields and gardens and ensure that all graffiti is removed promptly.</li><li>Ensure that the external environment of the school is kept free of litter and weeds etc., and that pathways are gritted or salted when required during wintry conditions.</li><li>Assist with the movement of furniture and equipment within the site.</li><li>Assist with the satisfactory receipt, distribution, collection and despatch of goods.</li><li>Ensure the responsible operation, care and maintenance of all equipment and tools associated with caretaking maintenance work, and to ensure that proper safety standards and requirements are applied.</li></ul>Security <ul><li>Ensure that all contractors to the school are signed in as such, that they wear in a prominent position, an ID badge, and to ensure that the contractors return the badge upon vacating the premises.</li><li>Ensure adequate security of buildings and premises at all times and to comply with any special security requirements as laid down from time to time by the Headteacher and / or Facilities Manager.</li></ul>Health and Safety <ul><li>Observe that all relevant Health and Safety rules and regulations are complied with by all personnel.</li><li>Report the contravention of HBG's and statutory regulations by contractors or other personnel on site that could be detrimental the health and safety of staff, visitors and students.</li><li>Assist, where necessary, with the programme of statutory testing.</li></ul>School Activity Programmes <ul><li>Liaise with the Helpdesk and the Leisure Manager in relation to non school lettings</li><li>Liaise with the Helpdesk, Leisure Manager and Headteacher in relation to school lettings and to assist with the opening of the site to school staff on non school days</li><li>Participate in the preparation of the premises for school events, reception of visitors, car parking etc</li><li>Assist with the movements of exam desks.</li></ul><ul><li>Assist where necessary in maintenance of the school gardens / flower beds not covered by the grounds maintenance contract.</li></ul>Who are we looking for? <ul><li>Caretaking and associated services qualifications desirable but DIY/ building maintenance skills essential.</li><li>Common sense &amp; ability to use own initiative </li><li>Clean driving licence</li><li>Understanding of Health &amp; Safety Regulations</li><li>Energetic Team player</li><li>Hardworking</li><li>Good communication skills</li><li>Loyal and good timekeeper</li><li>Reliable and trustworthy</li><li>Ability to be hands on</li><li>Adaptable &amp; flexible to working hours</li></ul>What's in it for you? Join our busy and motivated team to work closely with our Operations Officer, Caretaker and in house cleaners. Predominantly based at LCB Depot, your duties will extend across our 3 sites as directed by our Caretaker and Operations Officer. We have a Full-time, permanent post working 37 hours per week. Hours of work are by agreement and range between 8.00am - 4.00pm. You'll be able to work flexible hours and on occasion outside/after normal hours and weekends. What you'll be doing You'll report daily to the caretaker to determine priorities, tasks and report or resolve any difficulties. Duties will include cleaning/clearing business centre shared kitchenettes and washroom facilities, liaising with visiting contractors, small maintenance jobs and fixes, and decorating small areas. You'll carry out standard building checks such as water checks, fire alarm checks as well as assist with setting up of exhibitions and events. You'll be open to training as required potentially in the fields of Health and Safety compliance, First Aid, Fire Evacuation and equipment operation and basic checks. What you'll need With experience of working as a Premises Officer you'll be able to review information updated daily which summarise immediate jobs and fixes and receive direction from LCB's Caretaker and Operations Officer. You'll have good literacy skills, to be able to document tasks and create basic records as required. Using good verbal communication skills, you'll effectively liaise with suppliers, customers, and tenants. You'll be physically fit, with an appreciation of COSHH standards, water monitoring and manual handling to carry out tasks safely and in compliance with regulations. Location: Soar Valley Community College, Leicester, LE4 7GY G4S Facilities Management are recruiting a Premises Officer on a full-time, permanent basis based in Leicester. We are looking for someone who is reliable, enthusiastic, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team to ensure site maintenance services are to a high standard across the school. Due to the working hours of this role, it is essential that you live within a commutable distance to the site using your own transport. Public Transport is not available in the area at the times required for the role.
