Please note we have 3 positions available. As a Building Safety Manager at Peabody, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our high-rise residential buildings. With a strong focus on the requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022, you'll manage building safety risks, implement robust reporting systems, and work collaboratively across teams to drive continuous improvement. This role requires a strong background in fire safety, structural engineering, or building surveying, alongside the ability to manage safety inspections and engage effectively with residents and regulators. You'll operate with a fair degree of autonomy, often working alone, and your geographical patch will require some travel across Peabody's asset portfolio, including mandatory team office days. What You'll Be Doing As a Building Safety Manager, you will act as a key point of contact for building safety matters, ensuring compliance. This includes preparing Safety Case Reports, maintaining the Golden Thread of information, and managing Mandatory Occurrence Reporting (MOR). You'll assess and manage fire and structural safety risks, conduct inspections and audits, and collaborate with internal teams and external regulators to implement remedial actions. Additionally, you will develop and deliver resident engagement strategies to communicate safety updates, address concerns, and manage complaints related to building and fire safety. Through maintaining detailed records and adhering to organisational policies, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safe and well-managed homes across your portfolio. About You To succeed in this role, you will need a proactive and detail-oriented approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex tasks effectively. Main duties and responsibilities • Lead on anti-social behaviour (ASB) case management: o act as the first point of contact for residents who report ASB and hate crime to the councils, manage the response and record reports on the appropriate council systems; o utilise the district council/CSP tools set out in the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 to respond to ASB in South and Vale; o organise, support and participate in ASB case conferences and action planning, including chairing meetings; o co-ordinate and chair regular neighbourhood ASB meetings, record and monitor actions and ensure they link effectively with wider partnership working; o provide information relating to ASB for the CSP, councils and other interested parties. • Lead on local community safety projects that support the CSP's priorities (e.g. ASB, serious violence, violence against women and girls): o carrying out Environmental Visual Audits (EVAs) with partners; o analysing crime data and other sources of relevant information (including outcomes from EVAs) to identify relevant projects; o researching best practice both locally and nationally to inform projects; o delivering projects with partners within local communities; • Co-ordinate CSP subgroups (including producing papers, minute taking, chairing meetings and monitoring delivery of actions). • Promote the performance of the community safety team to a wide range of stakeholders through a variety of channels including social media. • Provide advice to council teams and partner agencies on community safety matters. • Undertake such other projects and duties as may be required from time to time.
