This role will cover an area in the West Midlands including Redditch, Coventry, Solihull, and Stratford Upon Avon. The Housing Officer role will require you to support GreenSquareAccord`s aim of valuing our customers by meeting housing and related needs on a cross-tenure patch. You will work both independently and as part of a team; to pro-actively deliver a high-quality housing management service, focussing on customer satisfaction and value for money. The role will require you to manage complex tenancy issues including property condition and anti-social behaviour cases. You will manage estate issues including health &amp; safety issues. You will work independently in challenging situations and with changing priorities striving to add value to everything you do. You will provide information to new and existing customers which will enable them to manage and sustain their tenancy. You will provide support/ attendance if requested by the Regional Locality Manager at the relevant Locality Board in line with our Locality Model approach. This role requires a cover letter. About you You will have a good general or technical education beyond GCSE e.g. 2 or more A- Levels/NVQ3 or vocabulary, verbal reasoning and numerical skills to the equivalent ability level. Housing or related qualification would be beneficial for this role. You will require knowledge and experience of housing and tenancy law, including succession, mutual exchange, assignments and ending tenancies. This will also include experience of tenancy or leasehold management and enforcement. For this role you will be able to demonstrate a good track history of delivering excellent customer service. This will also include excellent administration and organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise effectively and manage own demanding workload. Housing Officer Permanent Grade C- £35,412 - £44,075 Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review Working 36.5 hours per week An exciting opportunity has arisen within the City Housing Directorate of Birmingham City Council. As one of the largest landlords with a retained housing stock, we deliver a range of services across the city and work in partnership with our communities to provide well managed homes and neighbourhoods. This Housing Officer role will be working in the Central and North parts of the city, reporting to the Housing Manager. You will need to be flexible to respond to demand across the entire area when called upon. This position is responsible for supervising Neighbourhood Visiting Officers on a daily basis, responding to emergency situations when they arise. You will be required to supervise staff which will include Case Reviews, Managing Performance, setting targets/priorities, One to One's, Appraisals, Monitor Sickness, Return to Work Interviews, Risk Assessments, Attendance, Annual Leave, Health and Safety etc. You will be required to help identify training needs for those staff you manage/supervise, in partnership with your supervisor/manager, develop strategies to enable you to meet those needs, in line with the objectives of the organisation. The successful applicant will also be required to deal with emergency situations that arise such water leaks in Tower Blocks, Gas Forced Entries and Safe and Well Checks as necessary. Relevant experience in dealing with issues relating to Housing and problem-solving skills. The ability to communicate with our various stakeholders and hold partners to account. There is a need to effectively tackle concerns raised by tenants in order to seek the best possible solution.
