The role Based at one of our Extra care schemes in the East, we have a role for a Scheme Manager. We are looking for a customer focused individual to oversee the running of this scheme. You will build up effective relationships with the Independent Living and wider team to provide excellent housing and support for the customers based there. This role will have limited involvement in the out of hours rota. This role is part of Customer &amp; Communities where you'll help us to lead the way keeping our promise to more than 100,000 customers. What you'll achieve <ul><li>Work with older and vulnerable groups to promote an independent lifestyle.</li><li>Take responsibility for housing provision, compliance, and safety checks.</li><li>Work with the customers to ensure wellbeing and engagement.</li><li>Build effective working relationships with wider team, contractors and across the business.</li><li>Deliver excellent customer service at all times.</li></ul>What you'll bring Essential skills <ul><li>Housing experience and background in dealing with diverse customer groups</li><li>Understanding of compliance and working to company policy</li><li>Relationship building experience both internally and externally.</li><li>Good PC skills - MS Office. Strong communication skills</li><li>Ability to manage challenging situations and resolve issues</li></ul>Desirable skills <ul><li>CIH level 3 or 4 in Housing Practice, equivalent qualification or the desire to undertake a professional qualification.</li></ul>Why Orbit? This will this role will manage the lettings stream of housing management and will be managing a field based team of officers. As a Housing Manager, you will lead and a develop a team and support the Head of Housing to deliver our housing strategy and our vision, Housing Made Simple. You'll be the subject matter expert for my service area ensuring the function meets all regulatory and legislative requirements. Taking a coaching approach to empower your team to deliver an outstanding housing management service to our tenants. You'll support the team to resolve complex enquiries whilst encouraging them to be autonomous and be confident in their decision making, driven by doing the right thing for our customers and our business. You'll support your manager to lead on our vision, Housing Made Simple, to make it as easy as possible for tenants to rent their homes whilst ensuring we are compliant with the law, legislation, and Flagship's policies and procedures. You'll need extensive housing management experience, preferably in social housing. The ideal candidate will also have a CIH 4 - Housing Qualification or be willing to study towards it.
