The job itself We have an exciting opportunity to join the Housing Services team in delivering front line services to the public, in particular advice and assistance in respect of homeless approaches, the role is based at Bridlington Town Hall. The work is challenging and varied, the post holder will be responsible for taking the lead with requests for assistance made under the provisions of the homeless persons legislation and providing housing options advise and guidance. This will include working across internal departments and with multi agencies to fully assess the circumstances of applicants. The successful applicant must have a sound knowledge of housing legislation and policy and have experience in Housing/homelessness. The successful candidate must hold a valid driving license and must have access to a vehicle as they will spend time out of the office. The role offers blended working opportunities with time based in the office, at home and out on site.

Housing Management Officer (Homelessness)

The Role You will be based in Hull and will deliver high quality support to individuals who have a learning disability and /or autism. The support will be provided in our accommodation, as well as in the community and other appropriate settings. You will have an allocated caseload and be responsible for completing risk assessments, support plans and other paperwork. You will play an instrumental part in empowering individuals to live more independently, co-ordinating support with other key agencies, attending multi-disciplinary meetings. The support will include but not be limited to, assisting with daily living skills including shopping, attending appointments, accessing community resources, health care and accessing and dealing with benefits to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment. The service is 7 days a week and will include some weekend work. Responsibilities include: <ul><li>Deliver 1:1 support to clients in line with the goals set out in their support plan</li><li>Liaise with the others involved in an individual's care regarding progress towards set goals</li><li>Keep up to date, accurate and professional recordings of support delivery</li><li>Liaise with external agencies and professionals involved in clients support</li><li>Work flexibly as part of the staff rota to ensure safe staffing levels are met (five days out of seven)</li><li>Encourage and support service users to take part in activities</li><li>Encourage service users to contribute fully to their care and support plan</li><li>Support service users with personal administration, form filling and making benefit claims as necessary</li></ul>This is not an exhaustive list of duties. Qualifications / Requirements: <ul><li>A valid UK driving license and access to own roadworthy vehicle.
