Job Details We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible individual to deliver enhanced housing options advice and provide case management support to prevent homelessness. You will assess needs, make statutory decisions in relation to potentially homeless customers and work with applicants to secure rehousing which meets their requirements. You will undertake housing allocations, housing list management, voids management and deliver devolved, high quality landlord services by engaging with customers and partners to minimise void loss and ensure best use is made of the council's housing stock and voids management. The Person You should be educated to SCQF level 7, which includes HNC or Advanced Highers or equivalent in housing or related discipline and have the ability and commitment to complete qualification in Housing Advice Law SCQF level 7. You will be expected to provide prevention led accredited housing options advice, including initiating early intervention actions to prevent homelessness if required. Liaising with a wide range of partners and stakeholders as appropriate. Providing ongoing case management support throughout the customer journey including completing comprehensive housing and support needs assessments, coproducing Personal Housing Plans, and undertaking activity to identify and progress appropriate housing options. Job Description Place Housing and Homelessness Strategy, Commissioning and Service Improvement Housing Development Officer Waverley Court Salary: £33,287 - £39,129 Hours: 36 per week We have an exciting opportunity for a Housing Development officer to join the Housing and Homeless commissioning and contracts team. The successful applicant will support our Commissioning and Contracts Officers to procure; contract manage and support process development and payment of several suppliers and providers working to deliver the outputs and objectives of key strategic plans such as City of Edinburgh Councils Local Housing Strategy and Rapid Rehousing transition plan. The post holder is crucial to support deliver the key objectives of the service and prevent homelessness in Edinburgh. You will have the opportunity to work with internal and external multi-disciplinary teams to find the best solution through local and national contracting agreements to deliver for our front-line services. A large part of the successful applicants workplan will be focused on supporting the Housing contracts team to embed new processes and procedures in relation to invoicing and payments for our contractors and providers. The successful candidate may also be expected to support their peers in the delivery of the service workplan in relation to capital works, repairs and homelessness commissioned service delivery We are looking for candidates who can be innovative in their approach and have a desire to assist and support providers to meet the needs of our council tenants and landlords whilst meeting the statutory requirements of the Council. The successful candidate will have the relevant qualification(s), have knowledge or ability to learn end to end contract management processes and procedures. The successful candidate would be suited to the role with a good understanding of contract administration, public sector business support or experience of banking and payments services. You should be confident in working with colleagues from our procurement and finance teams and will have the ability to work collaboratively with suppliers and providers if needed.
