As a Housing officer, a typical day might include: <ul><li>Proactively managing tenancies and taking the necessary enforcement action.</li><li>Dealing with all aspects of the allocation and letting process.</li></ul><ul><li>Coordinating mutual exchanges, successions, or other tenancy changes.</li><li>Carrying out regular neighbourhood audits and developing neighbourhood plans to improve the communities we work.</li><li>Working closely with other departments including Income Management, Safer Communities and Asset Management. </li><li>Ensuring that safeguarding and support concerns are identified, reported and actioned.</li><li>Assisting in ensuring we are compliant with our heating and electrical servicing activity, and following relevant processes and protocols.</li><li>Health and safety inspections and checks of our schemes and blocks.</li><li>Engaging with customers to improve the area they live, and the services we offer.</li><li>Liaising with partners, agencies and stakeholders.</li><li>Accurately updating the housing management system, along with the systems and portals of our partners.</li><li>Playing an active role in corporate projects or groups.</li></ul>Some of the experience/skills we need to consider you: <ul><li>Proven housing experience, with a well-developed knowledge of housing management practice and legislation.</li><li>Computer literate with a good working knowledge of software such as word and excel - you will need to use these to do the job. </li><li>A strong customer focussed approach both externally and internally. </li><li>Be committed to working as part of our team. </li><li>Be motivated, adaptable, determined, and able to work on your own initiative to resolve problems and achieve positive solutions. </li><li>Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills. </li><li>Resilience. Housing Officer

Job Introduction This exciting new development within Lincolnshire, based in Grantham, welcomes enthusiastic and experienced applicants to apply for this rare opportunity to be involved in shaping a brand new pilot service that will support individuals stepping down from acute mental health wards to transition into the community. The service will be delivered in partnership with Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Trust and will form part of the NHS Mental Health Pathway. The service will be going live in October 2025, with a full training and induction programme for the team before go live. With an emphasis on recovery working alongside specialist housing and financial related support, you'll need to work flexibly to manage your own small caseload and help with the day to day running of the service. Role Responsibility Raising the bar for person-centred care, you'll provide a range of recovery focused support through key working sessions and group work. People's lives will be truly changed by you as you enable and prepare them to gain new skills and help them find ways to promote their long-term recovery. You will have off rota responsibilities such as housing and benefit assessments, identifying housing needs, liaising with local authorities to ensure that service users are supported in their move on from the service. On rota, you'll work with individuals on their recovery, devising individually tailored support and risk management plans and ensuring effective discharge planning. Ultimately, you'll play a vital role in helping them to gain skills and coping strategies, all while encouraging positive change and independence. The role requires you to work with the team on a rota which may include evenings and weekends. The Ideal Candidate The Ideal candidate should have experience of the following - <ul><li>Experience in supporting individuals leaving acute mental health care who are present with housing needs. </li><li>Experience in working with individuals who are at risk of homelessness or are currently homeless. </li><li>Experience in supporting individuals with mental health issues, dual diagnoses, and neurological disabilities.</li><li> Experience in working with local authorities and health and social care across Lincolnshire. </li><li>Experience in completing housing application and benefits application. </li><li>Someone with person centered approach. </li><li>Experience in writing excellent case notes, with excellent organizational and communication skills. </li><li>Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by line manager to support with the service delivery. </li><li>Act as an ambassador for turning point and Ashley house and develop excellent working relationships across different sectors, housing, employment, social care. </li></ul>About us As a leading health and social care provider with more than 300 locations across England, we take real pride in the services we offer.
