You will support service users to work towards outcomes set out in support plans, whilst contributing to the safe running of the scheme. This will involve: <ul><li>Managing referrals to the scheme, by maintaining electronic records on each client, ensuring adherence to the occupancy agreement in line with policies and procedures</li><li>Completion of move in and pre tenancy paperwork with all new residents, whilst providing a comprehensive induction to the property </li><li>Providing support to clients moving on from the scheme </li><li>Arranging and attending meetings with voluntary and statutory agencies, to maintain provision of a person-centred service to residents, supporting their development</li><li>Effective communication with internal and external contacts regarding the maintenance and H&amp;S of the property, to include providing guidance to the client on how to maintain good standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the property </li><li>Provision of engagement and involvement activities to promote social inclusion amongst service users</li></ul>Our Requirements - Housing Support Officer <ul><li>Understanding of safeguarding principles for children and vulnerable adults</li><li>Understanding of benefits and claim processes </li><li>Awareness of mental health issues/support needs connected to drug and alcohol misuse/homelessness </li><li>Experience of working in a client centred environment</li><li>Effective communication skills</li><li>Willingness to support an on-call service as part of a rota within the area </li></ul>At North Wales Housing we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of service users. This will involve: <ul><li><ul><li>Supporting service users with mental health and wellbeing, by encouraging healthy activities and lifestyles, and signposting to services</li><li>Assisting with claims for housing and associated benefits to support residents' financial stability</li><li>Organising and managing a range of engaging activities to promote social inclusion</li><li>Playing a hands-on role in responding to incidents, completing room checks and ensuring properties are maintained</li><li>Maintaining accurate service user records and files</li><li>Performing regular security and fire safety checks</li></ul></li></ul>Our Requirements - Housing Support Worker <ul><li><ul><li>Ability to hold everyday conversations in Welsh or willingness to learn</li><li>Experience working in a client centred environment such as housing, care or similar (e.g., supporting individuals in reporting maintenance issues, making healthcare appointments, pursuing hobbies, securing training and employment, etc.)</li><li>Knowledge of the support needs of vulnerable people</li><li>Good verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Hard working, with a positive 'can do attitude'</li><li>At least have basic IT skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook</li></ul></li></ul>Although not essential, an awareness of issues and support needs connected to homelessness and awareness of fire safety and security systems would be highly advantageous.
