Your impact in the role, as the Neighbourhood Housing Lead, you'll be responsible for the following: <ul> <li> Supporting the Housing Management team to deliver a reliable, repeatable, and consistent service for residents. </li> <li>You will be key to improving resident satisfaction, building trust, and making sure that residents have a home that they're happy in</li> <li>You'll be the primary relationship holder with the residents living in homes on your patch. Join Our Team as a Housing Manager! About Us: Active Prospects is an award-winning charity which supports around 400 people each year in the south-east who have a learning disability, mental health need or are autistic. We are looking for a Housing Manager to work in conjunction with, and to support the Property and Maintenance team. Role &amp; Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Lead and support the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused housing management services</li> <li>Manage complex tenancy and estate issues and support continuous service improvements across the organisation</li> <li>Provide an effective, efficient, responsive service to the people we support, who require housing-related support to remain in their home and/or continue with their tenancy</li> <li>Liaise with external agencies, legal representatives, and local authorities</li> <li>Develop and implement strategies, policies, procedures and service improvements within tenancy support</li> <li>Advance knowledge of housing legalisations/regulations and conflict resolution</li> <li>Ensure compliance with Regulator of Social Housing standards</li> <li>Line manages maintenance/compliance team to ensure responsive repairs are dealt in accordance to the SLA</li></ul>Responsibilities will also include: <ul> <li>Support the people we support to set up and maintain a home and tenancy</li> <li>Undertake housing assessments, record meetings and take detailed support notes during support visits</li> <li>Carry out estate inspections, liaise with contractors, and ensure safety and statutory compliance checks are up to date.</li> <li>Assist the people we support to manage their finances and welfare benefit claims, particularly housing benefit, universal credit, disability benefits and DLA/PIP</li> <li>Advise people we support on access to local community organisations, resources, activities and employment opportunities</li> <li>Support with maintaining a safe home environment for the people we support and assist in reporting maintenance issues and concerns</li> <li>Assist and support the people we support to meet rent and service charges obligations to landlords</li> <li>Organise monthly tenancy meetings in liaison with service managers</li> <li>Authorise legal action for rent arrears and represent the association in court where required</li> <li>Administer the provision of comprehensive information to the people we support in relation to service charges, annual uplifts of rent and contracts</li> <li>Ensure Active Prospects housing stock is managed to a high standard and compliant with Decent Home Standards and Awaab's Law.</li> <li>Investigate incidents of nuisance and anti-social behaviour, keeping relevant parties informed and maintaining accurate records</li> <li>Work with the Director of Property and external consultants on the Environment policy</li> <li>Ensure regular health and safety checks in properties to ensure tenancy agreements are upheld and properties remain safe and secure</li></ul>The successful candidate will have the following Knowledge, Training &amp; Experience: <ul> <li>Experience of working as a Housing Manager within registered social housing, charities and local authorities with minimum of 5 Years experience.</li> <li>Excellent knowledge of housing legislations and regulation within Housing Support, evictions, housing benefits and other welfare benefit claims</li> <li>Qualified with professional housing qualification with Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Level 4 Certificate for the Housing Profession.</li> <li>Experience leading and supporting initiatives that help tenants access benefits and financial help</li> <li>Have a passion for involving people we support in every aspect of their service</li> <li>Have the ability to work flexible hours including some weekends, evenings and conduct night audits if required</li> <li>Own a Full Driving Licence and be able to use own vehicle for business use</li></ul>What are you waiting for?
