Independent Living Officer (Extra Care)

The role As an Independent Living Coach, you will provide advice and support to people who have experienced homelessness across our young persons, male and female 24/7 schemes. You'll work as part of a team to manage the day-to-day running of the scheme, supporting customers with tenancy management, signposting for additional support with housing, health and welfare. You will be allocated a main scheme base, with the expectation that you could be requested to cover shifts across all the schemes. Job requirements <ul> <li>Cover all reception tasks, including the phone, post and enquiries. Role Overview: This role will deliver high quality, customer focused advice and support to people in Oldham who find themselves homeless or at risk of homelessness. This will include providing housing advice to people in the district and completing investigations into applications from customers who are at risk of homelessness as defined by the statutory duties under Housing Act 1996 Part VII, the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and relevant case law. The successful postholder will provide support to the Council in delivering its statutory homelessness duties by taking homeless applications in an effective manner and ensuring the council is legally compliant, and meeting performance targets and standards. The role As a Relief Worker you'll provide support and advice to people experiencing homelessness. You'll make sure customers feel comfortable, can manage their tenancy and signpost to other support such as housing, health and welfare.
