Housing Officer Basildon £33,854 per year (pro rata) 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday - 9:00am to 5:30pm Temporary position for up to 6 months We are seeking a Housing Officer to join us in Basildon on a temporary basis. The role sits in the Neighbourhood Team - Essex (Swan) and is a team of 14 currently. You will be responsible for providing a high-quality housing management service that meets the identified needs of customers and the wider community. You will be working in a professional manner to resolve problems and improve services in the Basildon area. Each day will involve working as part of a team to respond to resident tenancy related queries in person, email and telephone as well as addressing concerns involving residents homes, the environment, and neighbour relations. The role of Housing Officer will include: <ul> <li>Effective management of anti-social behaviour cases</li> <li>Liaising with colleagues in Property Services and Lettings to ensure the effective allocation of void properties</li> <li>Managing tenant expectations regarding repairs and escalating any property maintenance issues affecting tenant welfare via appropriate channels</li> <li>Managing complaints about service delivery</li> <li>Working with colleagues in other service areas to help the organisation meet its compliance obligations (fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety and data protection)</li> <li>Delivering general advice on all aspects of tenancy to enable sustainability</li> <li>Working closely with administrative colleagues to complete a range of tenancy management processes</li></ul>Skills and experiences: <ul> <li>Proven experience of undertaking a similar role</li> <li>Prior experience of delivering high quality tenancy services</li> <li>Excellent skills in analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing solutions</li> <li>Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external customers</li> <li>Excellent customer service and negotiating skills</li> <li>An understanding of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook</li> <li>Excellent communication skills both verbal and written</li> <li>Working knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice</li> <li>Occasional travel may be a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving license is essential</li></ul>Why work for us? Housing Officer

Job Description Grade 1/2- £27345- £28521 pro rata (18 hours per week) We are looking to appoint a permanent full time Housekeeper within our Sheltered Housing Team working 18 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, based on site at our Sheltered Schemes located across the Borough. There will be some local travel required between sites. The successful candidate will be someone who can evidence high standards of work and the flexibility to go the extra mile to ensure our Sheltered Schemes are clean, safe and comfortable places our residents and the Supported Housing Team can be proud of. Have access to own vehicle, as this post may require cover at other sites on occasion. Reporting to our Sheltered Scheme Officers, there will be daily contact with residents, visitors and staff and responsibility for ensuring our communal areas are clean, tidy and safe. Our Housekeepers are often first to spot and report any health and safety concerns around the Scheme. They are responsible for the safe use and storage of all Housekeeping products on site and the ordering of new stock to maintain essential supplies.
