What You'll Be Doing: • Leading resident engagement, co-design, consultation, and scrutiny initiatives to ensure residents influence decision-making at all levels. • Developing and delivering Peabody's Resident Engagement Strategy, ensuring resident feedback leads to tangible improvements. • Managing a high-performing team of four Local Engagement Leads and one Strategic Engagement Lead, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability. • Building strong relationships with residents and key stakeholders, including local authorities, community groups, and other housing associations. • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, particularly the Transparency, Influence &amp; Accountability Standard. • Overseeing engagement budgets and ensuring financial efficiency in delivering high-impact initiatives. • Representing Peabody externally, including deputising as the G15 chair for resident engagement and networking with sector peers. • Developing innovative engagement methods to reach seldom-heard voices across our 220,000 residents. What We're Looking For: • Extensive experience in resident engagement, scrutiny, and co-design within social housing or a similar sector. • A strong track record of managing and motivating teams, driving performance, and fostering collaboration. • Proven ability to influence and build trust with diverse stakeholders, including residents, leadership teams, and external partners. • Expertise in implementing the Transparency, Influence &amp; Accountability Standard, with solid examples of best practices in engagement. • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience in stakeholder engagement and facilitating resident-led initiatives. • A resilient and adaptable leader who thrives in a fast-paced and evolving environment. About The Role This is an exciting opportunity to join our Housing Engagement team as a Resident Engagement Officer (short term, until October 2025). You will work directly with tenants and leaseholders across Hounslow's Council housing, supporting them to come together in groups to share their experiences and help us improve our services. One day you may be hosting a fun event on a housing estate, the next you could be supporting a group of tenants who are scrutinising a service. The role is varied and busy. No two days are the same. You will work in a team of three Resident Engagement Officers, sometimes together and sometimes you will be alone leading the conversation with residents. You will work out and about on housing estates, as well as in Hounslow House, and often at evening or weekend meetings, where you get time off in lieu for the additional hours worked. About The Team You'll Be Working In The Housing Engagement team works very closely with Housing staff, sometimes with very senior officers and elected Members. Together we bring residents into joint work with officers to help improve the services to our tenants and leaseholders. We are part of the wider Engagement and Events team, so we often link up with colleagues who help us to develop consultations, put information on our online information hub, or how we reach out to our younger residents. Occasionally we help with some of the bigger events and ceremonies the Council hosts. We often work alongside other Council departments or external partners, such as the Metropolitan Police, to develop joint engagement events or workshops. About You You will be good at engaging with other people, listening and capturing their views. The views of our residents are vitally important to us so you will be good at reporting on what you have learnt from residents and presenting this information to colleagues. You will be confident at talking in front of a crowd, this could be residents or officers. You will also be able to analyse what you have worked on with residents and present it in a report. You will need to be able to juggle a number of different projects at once and agree your priorities with your manager. Managing databases is important and gathering data from residents and holding it securely, with regard to GDPR regulations. You will have good spoken and written English and be confident working with figures. You will also have good experience of working on computers and digital communications. Resident Engagement Officer

Job Introduction We're offering an interesting and rewarding role for a Resident Engagement Officer in our Neighbourhoods Team. You'll be responsible for working with our tenants, empowering them to have a voice in how we develop and manage our housing service and properties. We want to exceed people's expectations about what it means to engage with us as their landlord. You'll communicate with tenants, set up new tenant groups, and develop and implement new initiatives to engage local people. You'll provide advice and guidance to Resident Associations and support the development of new associations across the city. Some of this work will be done in the evening or at weekends, as we like to hold events for tenants at times that suit them best. Ideally, you'll have some experience working with residents or similar groups and you'll understand the requirements and challenges of the Government's Social Housing White Paper. Main Responsibility <ul><li>Empower and encourage tenants so that they have the information and skills to actively participate, including the delivery and/or sourcing of training and other capacity building initiatives.</li><li>Able to use resources efficiently and effectively in line with Council guidelines, whilst monitoring and measuring the success of involvement activities. The role will ensure MKCC meets the required consumer standards and future consumer measurables of our performance across all aspects of work.</li><li>Working collaboratively across teams to support the development and implementation of surveys and consultations, encouraging tenant participation.</li><li>Identify, develop and implement new and innovative approaches to resident involvement to encourage the involvement of residents from diverse and wide-ranging backgrounds particularly those who are harder to reach.</li><li>Support residents' associations across Milton Keynes, offering advice and guidance, including attendance at their meetings.</li><li>Processing Health checks and funding, maintaining clear and comprehensive records.</li><li>Have a genuine commitment to customer care, be self-motivated and well organised, able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, with the ability to work flexibly and outside of normal office hours as required.</li></ul>The Ideal Candidate <ul><li>A working and practised knowledge of the Tenant Involvement and Empowerment standard, a good understanding of the Government's Social Housing White Paper, and the consumer standards. </li><li>A CiH level 3 qualification or equivalent or be willing to work towards one.</li><li>Demonstrable experience of working in a tenant focused or community development role either within a Local Authority, Registered Provider of Social Housing (Housing Association) or another tenant focused environment.</li><li>Demonstrating an empathic and considered approach regarding resident involvement from a wide spectrum of people, with ability to adapt communication style to suit different situations. </li><li>Able to understand the political, social, and economic drivers and their impact on residents' lives, using this knowledge to interact with residents and communities and ultimately drive-up Resident Involvement. </li><li>The role requires extensive travel around the area of Milton Keynes and own means of transports is essential. A full UK driving licence, evidence of the driving licence and vehicle insurance with business insurance will be required from the candidate should they be offered this position.
