JOB PURPOSEThe Group Manager will have strategic management responsibility for all services delivered within the Housing Service. Community Safety Officer

The Opportunity This role is based within Platfform's Supported Housing scheme within the Vale of Glamorgan. The scheme provides tenancy related support to people experiencing difficulties with their mental health. We have two supported housing projects across Barry and Penarth, both offer semi-independent living to a total of 11 residents. You will be part of a team working across both houses offering support between 9am-5pm Monday-Friday, with the addition of support on Saturdays 9am-3pm in the Barry project. The Saturday shifts are on a rota basis and the requirement to work a Saturday averages to 1 shift every 4-5 weeks - this is subsidised by a week day. The successful candidate will provide a range of social, emotional and practical support to people with mental health and associated problems impacting their ability to maintain a stable tenancy, through a Trauma-Informed approach. The support will be expected to be within commissioner's guidelines i.e. the Supporting People Framework, and in line with Platfform's value base. The role holder will be expected to provide support development of individual support plans (ISPs) and risk assessments (RAs), as well as take lead during crisis support. Main Responsibilities of the Role <ul> <li>Report directly to Department Director</li> <li>Professional pro-active approach, strong client care skills and a sensitive and sympathetic understanding of clients' needs</li> <li>Responsible for all aspects of Housing work and on occasions, where appropriate providing technical expertise and guidance to other team members</li> <li>Ability to manage appropriate caseload types and complexities</li> <li>Assisting with casework including dealing with a range of public and private housing cases including Homelessness; Disrepair; Eviction; Possession; Property Ownership Disputes; Succession for Tenants; Neighbourhood Problems matters as well as undertaking your own advocacy</li> <li>Ability to manage and supervise caseworkers and trainees.</li> <li>Attending clients, taking instructions and preparing cases</li> <li>Dealing with correspondence</li> <li>Maintaining accurate time costing procedures</li> <li>Implementing any recommendations made by your supervisor following monthly file reviews ensuring that these are dealt with promptly</li> <li>Ensuring compliance with file management.</li> <li>Willingness to attend Housing Court Duty Scheme.</li> </ul>Key Skills Required: <ul> <li>Must have a clean, valid Practising Certificate at the time of applying</li> <li>Committed team player with ability to approach team concerns fairly, foster culture of positive change and encourage cross referrals</li> <li>Previous proven supervisory experience and working to key performance indicators</li> <li>Professional with a pro-active approach; excellent client care skills and ability to deal with vulnerable client matters in a sensitive manner and resolve complicated practicalities involved in Housing issues</li> <li>Excellent networking and communication skills with the ability to successfully market the Company and generate new business</li> <li>Excellent analytical and organisational skills</li> <li>Ability to use own initiative and sound judgment</li> <li>Working knowledge of the publicly funded Housing work including legal representation and legal help and have the ability to service privately funded cases</li> <li>Have extensive experience in dealing with all Housing related work</li> <li>Experience in own advocacy is an advantage</li> <li>Excellent IT Skills -familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills</li> </ul>What we offer <ul> <li>A fantastic supportive team</li> <li>Strong career progression with support for legal awards and professional recognition</li> <li>Attractive salary package with supervision bonus</li> </ul>SALARY STRUCTURE - SOCIAL HOUSING SALARY (London) (Outside London) NQ + Supervision Bonus * £46,000 £44,500 1 Year PQE + Supervision Bonus * £48,000 £46,500 2 Years PQE + Supervision Bonus * £50,000 £48,000 3 Years Plus PQE + Supervision Bonus * £52,000 £50,500 Supervision Bonus up to * + up to £8,000 up to £7,400 * Terms and Conditions apply.
