An exciting opportunity has arisen at the National Housing Federation (NHF) for a senior policy advisor to lead our policy and strategy work on housing supply, development and planning, at a critical time for social housing supply. The NHF is the voice of housing associations in England. We are the trade body to almost 600 housing associations, who have grown from philanthropic roots to provide 2.6 million homes to around six million people. Social housing supply is high on the political agenda and housing associations are working closely with the government on the policy and funding environment needed to allow us to deliver the biggest boost to social and affordable housebuilding in a generation. This role will put you at the heart of this national issue. Whether this is making a persuasive and evidence-based case to the government for additional grant funding to build new homes, or working with sector experts on the detail of planning, development or regeneration policy, or meeting with civil servants, developers, planners, local government and other stakeholders on behalf of our members, this role is central to our work influencing national social housing policy. Senior Policy Advisor (social housing supply and planning)

Job Introduction Access to Housing is a strategic team responsible for a range of programmes and projects that support vulnerable people across the district. These include: homeless and rough sleepers, domestic abuse survivors, asylum seekers and refugees etc. The Housing Strategy and Intelligence Officer plays a key role within the team by providing data driven insights, research, and analysis to inform policy decisions, improve service delivery and shape housing strategies. This work ensures that the team's initiatives are evidence base, effective and responsive to the needs to the district. We are looking for a proactive and analytical individual to take the lead in providing intelligence support for the Council's housing-related functions. This role will involve conducting strategy and policy reviews, acting as the primary point of contact for housing data, research, and intelligence, and driving evidence-based decision-making to support service transformation and development. Key responsibilities will include leading service reviews, overseeing implementation, and monitoring outcomes to ensure effective policy impact. You will play a crucial role in improving the provision of data, information, and intelligence, enabling the organisation and its partners to gain valuable insights for policy implementation and efficient service design and delivery. To succeed in this role, you will need: • Strong expertise in policy and strategy development, data analysis, and insight generation. • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and relationship management skills. • Strong report-writing abilities and adaptability to manage competing priorities in a fast-changing environment. • Extensive experience in a public sector or similar organisation, specifically in a data, information, or intelligence role. • Demonstrable experience within a housing organisation, local authority housing service, or in providing housing intelligence or strategic support. • Advanced proficiency in using, developing, and manipulating spreadsheets, databases, and mapping software for policy analysis and review. Qualifications &amp; Experience An NQF Level 5 qualification in a field with a strong focus on research and analysis, OR significant relevant experience demonstrating equivalent research and analytical skills. Housing Strategy and Intelligence Officer

We're looking to recruit a skilled and strategic Trusts and Foundations Manager who is passionate about weaving stories and stats together in a way that inspires funders to support 24-7 Prayer.
