Read on to find out more... About the Role The successful postholder will play a key role in the development and delivery of the City's housing strategy. You will work with colleagues from across the Council and with external partners and agencies across all tenures to formulate and deliver a range of interventions to help the City to achieve its vision of 'homes fit for the future'. This is a challenging and exciting time to work in housing in Nottingham. The postholder will be in the thick of the Council's strategic approach to housing. The role includes strategy and policy development, research and analysis on a wide range of topics where housing makes a vital contribution to residents' wellbeing and quality of life. About You The ideal candidate will have: <ol> <li>Knowledge of current housing issues and policies at a level to enable the development of policy responses </li> <li>The ability to make maximum use of housing analysis tools and data sources in order to assess market trends</li> <li>Experience of performance management, able to set goals and targets and take appropriate mitigating action when necessary</li> <li>Experience of working with a range of stakeholders and partners to deliver housing related projects </li> <li>The ability to lead project teams and commission work packages/studies/briefs</li> <li>The ability to manage, develop and motivate people in order to help achieve the authority's objectives and maximise their contribution.</li></ol> Full duties of the job description can be found here. Job Introduction Access to Housing is a strategic team responsible for a range of programmes and projects that support vulnerable people across the district. These include: homeless and rough sleepers, domestic abuse survivors, asylum seekers and refugees etc. The Housing Strategy and Intelligence Officer plays a key role within the team by providing data driven insights, research, and analysis to inform policy decisions, improve service delivery and shape housing strategies. This work ensures that the team's initiatives are evidence base, effective and responsive to the needs to the district. We are looking for a proactive and analytical individual to take the lead in providing intelligence support for the Council's housing-related functions. This role will involve conducting strategy and policy reviews, acting as the primary point of contact for housing data, research, and intelligence, and driving evidence-based decision-making to support service transformation and development. Key responsibilities will include leading service reviews, overseeing implementation, and monitoring outcomes to ensure effective policy impact. You will play a crucial role in improving the provision of data, information, and intelligence, enabling the organisation and its partners to gain valuable insights for policy implementation and efficient service design and delivery. To succeed in this role, you will need: • Strong expertise in policy and strategy development, data analysis, and insight generation. • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and relationship management skills. • Strong report-writing abilities and adaptability to manage competing priorities in a fast-changing environment. • Extensive experience in a public sector or similar organisation, specifically in a data, information, or intelligence role. • Demonstrable experience within a housing organisation, local authority housing service, or in providing housing intelligence or strategic support. • Advanced proficiency in using, developing, and manipulating spreadsheets, databases, and mapping software for policy analysis and review. Qualifications &amp; Experience An NQF Level 5 qualification in a field with a strong focus on research and analysis, OR significant relevant experience demonstrating equivalent research and analytical skills.
